The Gospel consists of the four books in the New Testament that gives the teachings of Jesus Christ, written by John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew.
Overview of the Gospel of Matthew:
Matthew’s name means “Gift of the Lord”, a tax collector who left everything to follow Jesus Christ as an apostle (disciple). His former name was Levi, the tax collector. Matthew wrote the Gospel of Matthew. He wrote it for people who converted from Judaism. This Gospel demonstrates that Jesus Christ is the King and Messiah of Israel. His works support that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all of the old testament prophecies of the coming of the Messiah.
“This book describes Jesus’s genealogy, his miraculous birth and childhood, his baptism and temptation, his ministry of healing and preaching, and finally his crucifixion and resurrection. The resurrected Jesus commissions his Apostles to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Source: Retrieved from the internet on 11/16/2021 from The New World Encyclopedia. https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Gospel_of_Matthew

Summary of lesson seven and lesson eight
Jesus requires faith in him for a healing miracle to take place. In this chapter Jesus performed many miracles of healing. Two blind men asked Jesus to heal them. He asked them did they think he could do it. They replied, Yes, Lord. Matthew 9:29 “Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.”
Some sicknesses are related to sin. Jesus has the power to forgive sins. Matthew 9:2 “And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” Matthew 9:6 KJV “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.”
Jesus calls Matthew a tax collector to discipleship. Jesus told Matthew to “follow me” and he did. Jesus sat with sinners and ate with them. Matthew 9:11 “And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eat your Master with publicans and sinners?” Matthew 9:12-13KJV 12But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13But go ye and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Jesus told the disciples to pray for laborers because the people needed help. Matthew 9: 36-38 KJV 36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; 38Pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. Note: Jesus is telling his followers and believers to pray for what they need in doing the Lord’s work.
In this chapter, Jesus gave the name of the twelve disciples (apostles). He advised the disciples how to go into towns to preach and to stay with worthy people. He advised them not to fear the people who can kill the body but fear the one who can kill the soul.
Jesus advised the disciples to go into towns and stay with worthy people. Salute a house upon entering and bring peace unto a worthy household. If the disciples are not received, they are to shake the dust off their feet of that place and move on. Jesus commands the disciples to go and preach. If they are resisted, they should leave. It is the same in telling people about God. If you are resisted. There is no need to quarrel or force the conversation, just share with those who wish to hear as God gives free will to receive salvation. Often, if you do not force it, the person will be more interested and approach you about it at a later time.
Jesus talks to the disciples to comfort them against persecution. Jesus tells the disciples, they will be hated because of him. They will be delivered unto councils, kings, and governors. They do not have to worry about defending themselves, the holy spirit will tell them what to say and will speak for them. He warns that no disciple is above his Lord and no servant is above his Lord.
Fear, not people who can kill the body but fear the one who can kill the soul. What is hidden in the dark, Jesus will reveal in the light. Jesus warned not to deny him before anyone or he will deny you in heaven. God will divide households because he will divide the spirits of believers and unbelievers. Jesus warns that if a disciple does not take his cross up and follow him, they are not worthy of him.

Call to salvation
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
