The Gospel consists of the four books in the New Testament that gives the teachings of Jesus Christ, written by John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew.
Overview of the Gospel of Matthew:
Matthew’s name means “Gift of the Lord”, a tax collector who left everything to follow Jesus Christ as an apostle (disciple). His former name was Levi, the tax collector. Matthew wrote the Gospel of Matthew. He wrote it for people who converted from Judaism. This Gospel demonstrates that Jesus Christ is the King and Messiah of Israel. His works support that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all of the old testament prophecies of the coming of the Messiah.
“This book describes Jesus’s genealogy, his miraculous birth and childhood, his baptism and temptation, his ministry of healing and preaching, and finally his crucifixion and resurrection. The resurrected Jesus commissions his Apostles to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Source: Retrieved from the internet on 11/16/2021 from The New World Encyclopedia. https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Gospel_of_Matthew

Summary of lesson five and lesson six
Jesus taught multitudes of people the commands of righteousness: Blessed are they that mourn, are meek, that hunger, thirst after righteousness, merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, and those persecuted for righteousness sake. Believers and disciples are seen by Jesus as the light of the world. Mathew 5: 14 14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Mosaic “Torah” law. 17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
Jesus’ teachings of the Gospel message in comparison to the teachings of Moses.
Note: Jesus takes marriage very seriously. Even more, porn magazines and sexual content movies are putting a person in danger of adultery. Jesus commanded these laws to protect the institution of marriage by protecting the marriage partner’s ability to be faithful in order to keep the family unit strong. There are some state laws in which a person can be sued for interfering in a marriage by having sex and a relationship with one of the partners. Some people have been thrown out of the army for adultery relationships.
Matthew 5: 27 27Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28But I say unto you, That whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Note: Jesus states that before him, Moses said a man could divorce a wife to protect the woman if her husband did not find pleasure in her.
Matthew 5:31-32 31It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her writing of divorcement: 32But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.
Jesus explains that loving people who may not be loveable to you, especially your enemies, is loving in a state of perfection through his spirit. Matthew 5:48 48Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Note: God is love and perfect. Jesus is perfect, and his standard for us is to be perfect in love as well – a benefit of the shed blood. The first two commands: 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Jesus taught on “The Sermon on the Mount” concerning good deeds “giving” or Almsgiving. When a good deed is performed, we are not to tell anyone. If you lend money or do a favor for someone, don’t go around announcing it. For the Lord says, then you have your reward. Instead, do not let the right hand know what the left is doing. Thy Father which sees in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
Jesus taught us how to pray: enter into your closets. shut the door, and pray in secret. He taught us how to fast. Anoint thy head with oil and wash your face as to appear as if you are not fasting. Thy Father which sees in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
Lay your treasure up in heaven, not on earth. In other words, do not want for everything of material possession. Some people want the most expensive cars, expensive jewelry, and fine clothes that cost too much. They will kill to be the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Only what you do for the Lord (love) will last. Matthew 6: 19-20 KJV 19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Note: 1 Timothy 6:10 KJV “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
No man can serve two masters. 24“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Note: Joshua 24:15 “And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Anxiety about worldly things is forbidden. Jesus demanded that believers should seek “The kingdom of God” first. 31Therefore, take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:)Your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take, therefore, no thought for tomorrow: for the tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Call to salvation
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
