We always pray in Jesus Christ’s name because Jesus is the blood sacrifice that connects us clean and righteous to God.  Jesus is Lord and the Lord is God (Psalm 100).

2.  The Lord’s Prayer –Matthew 6:9-13 KJV  The prayer Jesus taught his disciples to pray to meet their daily needs both spiritual and physical.

The disciples did not have to pray in Jesus name at the time because Jesus was with them. The Holy Spirit would not come upon them until he left. After he transcended to heaven, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit upon them.  In addition, in the Gospel of John, Jesus did advise the disciples, that if they asked for anything in his name he would do it and if they asked the father anything in his name (Jesus) , he would do it. John 14: 13-14 KJV

The Lord's Prayer
3. The Lord is My Shepherd- Psalms 23 KJV,  is a prayer based on the believer trusting the goodness and mercy of God to meet all needs including protection from evil for eternity.

John 10:8-14 KJV  8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
