Daily Word: Choose Repentance with Remittance and Live: Understanding Ezekiel 18:26-32 (KJV)
Romans 2:11 KJV “For there is no respect of persons with God.”
In Ezekiel 18:26-32, God speaks through the prophet Ezekiel about the importance of turning away from sin and choosing life. This passage reminds us that each person is responsible for their own actions and must choose between sin and righteousness.
It’s all about obeying God by living a holy life and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. It’s not about position, money, or reputation. Jesus Himself was homeless, and His disciples also left behind worldly comforts.
While they had what they needed to survive, the most important thing was that they knew God and were focused on their mission as servants—to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and His offer of salvation and the Gospel in order to live life abundantly and forever.
Verse 26 tells us that if a righteous person turns away from doing good and does evil, they will be punished for their sins. But in verse 27, it says if a wicked person turns away from their sins, they will save their life and not die. This shows that God’s mercy is available to those who repent and turn back to Him.
God does not take pleasure in the death of sinners (verse 32). He wants everyone to live. That’s why He calls us to repent, change our ways, and return to doing what’s right. This passage emphasizes that we have the power to make choices: we can continue in sin, or we can turn to God and be saved.

Reflection or Journal Question: Have you turned away from sin and chosen to follow God’s ways?
Scripture: Ezekiel 18:26-32 KJV
Ezekiel: 18:26-32 KJV 26When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28 Because he considered, and turned away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30Therefore, I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyone according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
