Daily Word: God Directs and Redirects Through Interruptions: Trusting God Through Challenges

Psalms 23:4 KJV  “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

Life is full of unexpected interruptions. Whether it’s a job loss, death, a health issue, or a natural disaster, these moments often leave us feeling confused and uncertain. However, these interruptions can also be a redirection from God. They are opportunities to strengthen our faith and draw closer to Him. When we face problems, we learn that God can solve them. As the old saying goes, “If I never had a problem, I would not know God could solve them.”

The Lord is My Shepherd

In the Bible, we see many examples of God using interruptions for His purpose. In Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV), it says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” This reminds us to trust God, even when life’s interruptions don’t make sense.

The story of Job teaches us about God’s redirection through suffering. Job, a righteous man, lost everything—his family, wealth, and health. However, through his trials, Job learned to trust God more deeply. In Job 23:10 (KJV), Job declares, “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.” Job’s story shows us that God allows interruptions in our lives to purify our faith and bring us closer to Him.

Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV) says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God’s plans are beyond our understanding, but through interruptions, He leads us according to His will.

Reflection on Job’s Story

The story of Job teaches us about perseverance and faith during life’s hardest moments. Even when everything was taken from him, Job remained faithful to God, and in the end, he was restored. This teaches us that God uses our trials to refine us, and what seems like an interruption may be a part of His greater plan for our lives.

Reflection Question:

How has a difficult interruption in your life brought you closer to God?

ePrayer for Hurricane Victims in North Carolina and Beyond

Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up the people of North Carolina and all those affected by hurricanes, wars, and deaths. In this time of uncertainty, we as believers in Jesus, ask that You give them peace and remind them that You have not left them. Let this be a time for them to draw closer to You, understanding that this is a redirection to trust not in the government or human solutions, but in Your mighty power. Help them find strength in repentance, and guide them on the path to recovery. Surround them with Your love and comfort, showing them that You are their refuge and strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  CALL TO SALVATION

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
