Daily Word: Claim It: The Good Fight of Faith

As believers, our faith is anchored in God’s promises, not in worldly techniques like manifesting or new-age practices. When we declare “I claim it in the name of Jesus,” we are standing on God’s truth, trusting that He hears our prayers and will provide according to His will.

John 1:12 KJV  reminds us, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” As children of God, we have the authority to boldly claim what He has promised us.

Satan constantly tries to distract us, using doubt and fear to prevent us from achieving our goals. But we are encouraged in Mark 11:24 KJV: “What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Faith is not just a feeling; it’s a belief system rooted in trust that God’s word is true. By saying “I claim it,” we align our hearts with His will, ensuring that our desires reflect God’s holiness, not worldly desires.

It’s crucial to recognize that asking for things in God’s will means seeking what is pure and just. God would never grant prayers that go against His nature, like causing harm, stealing, murdering, losing jobs, causing sickness or breaking up families or breaking the law to your advantage (trespassing on property).

James 4:3 KJV  “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”  The lord provides housing, jobs, businesses, health, love, wisdom and knowledge, food, families, transportation, etc..,   His grace is sufficient.

2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV  “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

God made kings rich but their riches serve the people. King Solomen was the richest king ever until this day, because he asked God to make him a wise King to govern God’s people. He did not ask for riches or long life. God was pleased and gave him everything. He wanted to be a servant of excellent spirit.

Romans 12:19 KJV reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, so we don’t seek revenge or evil desires.  That way you are innocence of your own sins.  The accuser, the devil can make no claim of you.

Romans 12:19 KJV  “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

Instead, we embrace our identity as God’s chosen people: “

1 Peter 2:9 KJV  “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

In this identity, we confidently step out in faith, knowing that what we claim according to God’s will is ours in Jesus’ name.

Believe, trust, and fight the good fight of faith, for if God is for you, who can be against you?

Prayer to Jesus Christ

Here are three action steps to claim in prayer in Jesus’ name what is needed, based on the understanding that “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1KJV), meaning God’s abundance is available to His children:

  1. Align Your Request with God’s Will: Before asking, make sure what you desire is in line with God’s will. Pray and meditate on scriptures like James 4:3 KJV, which teaches that we should ask with pure intentions. Remember, God’s promises are for blessings, growth, and righteousness, not for selfish or harmful gains.
  2. Declare and Believe in Faith: Once you’ve aligned your heart with God’s will, boldly declare your request in Jesus’ name. Mark 11:24 KJV  tells us that when we ask, we must believe that we receive it. Speak your need with confidence, saying, “In Jesus’ name, I claim this according to God’s promise,” and hold fast to your faith.
  3. Thank God and Stay in Expectation: After you pray, shift to a mindset of gratitude, thanking God in advance for answering your prayer. Philippians 4:6 KJV encourages us to make our requests known with thanksgiving. Continue to live in expectation, trusting that God’s timing is perfect and that His provision will be made manifest in your life.  Don’t forget to give God a praise song after making your request is made as part of your gratitue.

These steps help believers tap into the abundant resources available through faith, trusting that God has no lack and is ready to provide for His children according to His perfect will.

Reflection Question: What areas in your life do you need to fully trust God’s abundance instead of relying on your own efforts or worldly methods?

 CALL TO SALVATION

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
