“Empowered to Speak: Acting with the Authority of God’s Word”

As believers, we are called to speak and act with the authority of the Word of God. Jesus emphasizes this in John 15:7 (KJV), where He says, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

This scripture reveals the power and authority that comes from abiding in Jesus and letting His words dwell within us. When we align our lives with His teachings, we are empowered to act and speak with His authority.

When we pray with scripture : It is written, we return God’s word to him to perform it.  It is important to speak scripture as it is backed by power.

Isaiah 55:11 KJV  “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Jeremiah 1:12  KJV  “Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.”

Jesus used the written word of God to make Satan go away.

Luke 4:8 KJV  “And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Three-Step Action Plan for Acting with the Authority of God’s Word:

  • Immerse Yourself in Scripture: The first step to acting with authority is to deeply immerse yourself in God’s Word. Spend time daily reading, studying, and meditating on the Bible. By doing so, you allow God’s truth to take root in your heart and mind. This consistent exposure to Scripture will build your confidence to speak and act according to His will.
    • Action Step: Set aside a specific time each day to read and meditate on the Bible, focusing on key passages that speak to the areas of your life where you need to exercise authority.
  • Speak the Word in Faith: Once God’s Word is deeply rooted in you, the next step is to speak it with faith. When challenges arise, declare God’s promises and truths over the situation. Remember, you are not speaking your words but the Word of God, which carries divine authority.
    • Action Step: Identify key scriptures that address your specific needs or challenges. Practice speaking these verses out loud daily, believing that God’s Word is powerful and effective.
  • Act in Alignment with God’s Will: Finally, take action that aligns with the Word of God. Let your decisions, behavior, and interactions be guided by the teachings of Jesus. When you act in accordance with His Word, you are walking in His authority, and God will back up your actions with His power.
    • Action Step: Before making decisions or taking action, pause to consider if it aligns with Scripture. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and move forward with confidence, knowing you are acting under God’s authority.

By immersing yourself in Scripture, speaking the Word in faith, and acting in alignment with God’s will, you can confidently exercise the authority given to you as a believer.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
