Hello ePrayer Circle’s Tribe,

I am going to talk about a serious problem that is causing breakdowns in families and society as a whole.  In today’s world, the topic of sex outside of marriage often stirs debates and varying opinions.

I want to address why this is such an offense to God and explore its implications through the lens of Scripture. Let’s explore several reasons why God values the sanctity of marriage.

Undermining the Family Unit

One of the core reasons sex outside of marriage is concerning is its impact on the family unit. The family is the foundational institution that God designed for nurturing and guiding children. When children are raised outside of a stable marriage, they often face challenges such as poverty and lack of parental guidance.

This deviation from God’s design leads to struggles in forming families of their own.

The Bible states that children are born “unclean” due to the sin of their parents. In Hosea 5:4 (KJV), we read, “They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the Lord.” This passage highlights the spiritual impact of immorality on future generations.

However God is a forgiving God and upon repentance with remission, parents can receive cleaniness for themselves and their children.  1 John 1:9 KJV  “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Foothold for the Devil

Engaging in premarital sex can also give the devil a foothold in our lives. When a relationship lacks the blessing of marriage, one partner may not be aligned with God’s will. Ecclesiastes 4:12 (KJV) reminds us, “And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Without God as the third cord, relationships are vulnerable to sin and separation from God.

Unrepented sin leads to a reprobate mind, which is a mind that has rejected God and His truth. Romans 1:28 (KJV) warns, “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” A reprobate mind is one that is hardened and resistant to God’s guidance.

Disobedience and Unholiness

Sex outside of marriage is an act of disobedience and unholiness. It opens the door to diseases and reflects a rejection of God’s knowledge. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and should be treated as living sacrifices. Romans 12:1 (KJV) urges us, “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”

In God’s eyes, the act of sex is what joins two people in marriage, not a legal document or courthouse ceremony. This creates soul ties, which can bind individuals in ways that may go against God’s will. In 1 Corinthians 6:16 (KJV), it is written, “What? know ye not that he which is joined to a harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.” Engaging in sexual immorality gives Satan a legal foothold in our lives, allowing him to influence and disrupt our spiritual and physical journey.

In conclusion, sex outside of marriage undermines the family unit, gives the devil a foothold, and represents disobedience to God’s word. Let us strive to honor the sacredness of marriage with repentance with remission and follow God’s design for our lives.

 CALL TO SALVATION

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
