Letter from the Editor’s Desk: Good Intentions Can Pave the Road to Hell

Dear ePrayer Circle Readers,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Today, I want to talk about how good intentions can sometimes lead us down the wrong path. It’s surprising how often we think we are doing something good, but in reality, we end up in bad situations by not being mindful and agreeing with the wrong people or wrong situations, whether intentionally or not.

Proverbs 14:12 (KJV) reminds us, “There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” This verse shows that our intentions, no matter how good they seem, can lead to negative consequences if not aligned with God’s will.

The Spiritual Realm and Agreements

In the spiritual realm, our intentions and agreements hold significant weight. Even unintentional agreements can give the enemy legal rights over our lives. It amazes me how often we create negative situations through our actions or words, sometimes without realizing it.

For example, “True motives” applies to God’s judgment with grace. We never fully receive what we deserve because of His grace and forgiveness. He determines if we understood or meant to do what we did.  However, giving permission or agreeing with the wrong thing, intentionally or not, can cost us dearly.  We all reap what we sow. God’s grace in Jesus Christ will not allow it to condemn us.

Galatians 6:7 KJV  “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

James 4:7 (KJV) tells us, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” This means we must be vigilant and mindful of our actions and agreements.

Be careful of what you do and who you do it with.

Real-Life Example: The Power of Agreements

Let me share a story. A few years ago, I picked up my young cousin and her friends from the county jail. They were arrested for a DUI after a night at a club. In jail, they met a girl who was serving time for bank robbery.

She had agreed to go on a date with a new guy. He stopped at a bank to get cash and asked her to wait in the car.  Unbeknownst to her, he robbed the bank and they both were arrested. She received a two-year sentence simply for being there. She was a young single mother.

Her child was one year old. She did not know the guy.  They gave her two years., She had served a year in jail when my cousins met her.

This story illustrates how agreements, even unintentional ones, can have severe consequences. The law views her as a partaker in the crime, similar to how God views our spiritual agreements.

Biblical Examples of Agreement and Judgment

In the Bible, God cast out Satan and his followers because they were in agreement against Him. Luke 10:18 (KJV) says, “And he (Jesus) said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” This shows the importance of aligning ourselves with God’s will.

Be careful of telling strangers to repay kindness, “God Bless You”. The scripture says you will partake in their evil especially if they are not believers. They could be quite the opposite.

2 John 1:10-11 (KJV): “If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

Another example of  “good intentions”  that could pave the road to hell for is when you pray for people and you do not say, “Father, if it be thy will”  and if you lay hands on strangers that God has rejected. You will become a partaker of their sins.  If they are possessed by unholy spirits or cursed it may come upon you and your family.

It is so important to do everything in the name of Jesus, who has shed his blood for us to cover us and make us holy and pure.

1 Timothy 5:22 KJV   22Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.  Jesus was manifested to destroy the work of evil and Satan.

1 John 1:2  KJV  “(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)”

Choosing Friends Wisely

Our friends influence our paths. “Can two walk together, except they agreed?” (Amos 3:3, KJV). The people we surround ourselves with can lead us toward or away from God’s plan for our lives.  There is an wise saying amongst people in business.  “Show me your friends and I will show you your future.”

Practical Advice

Be cautious about who you agree with and the situations you find yourself in.  Research companies before accepting a job to ensure they align with your values. Avoid corrupt communication and be mindful of the spiritual ties that come with accepting gifts or forming close relationships with unholy people.

In all things, pray for God’s guidance. Hosea 4:6 (KJV) warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Seek wisdom and let God lead you and your loved ones. This will make life so much easier.  Study the word of God.  It is written

Matthew 22:29 KJV  “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Have you ever considered how your good intentions might lead you into unintended consequences?

May Our Living Hope Find You Faithful,

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7

Matthew 28:19 KJV  “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son (Jesus), and of the Holy Ghost:
