Letter From The Editor’s Desk: The Secret Keys to Lasting Relationships
John 17:26 KJV “And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
Hello ePrayer Circle’s Tribe,
I’ve always believed that when you have a gift, people will see it in you. For me, that gift is connecting people in relationships, especially love relationships. I have a knack for picking up on personality traits that others might not notice about themselves.
I’ve counseled parents, young people, and seniors, and over the years, I’ve introduced and united over 15 couples in marriages that have lasted decades. Through casual conversations, I’ve impacted over hundreds more lives, including many couples on the brink of divorce.
Reflecting on what made these relationships successful, I realized that despite their differences, they shared the same values, interests, and personalities. It wasn’t about nationality or appearance; it was about shared beliefs. They were like-minded and honest, with a common love for God. They believed in something bigger than themselves. They were good decent people, regardless of their conduct at the time.
One memorable situation involved a nice looking young couple in their early twenties from Africa. The wife was considering leaving her husband after having a baby, but I encouraged her to stay, pointing out that her husband’s behavior might be influenced by human needs during her pregnancy. It’s common when a woman is pregnant.
I advised her, instead of blaming each other, act like you love each other. Make a commitment to make it work. Tell those thirsty ladies that call your home to make you mad, so you will leave your husband, that you are the wife and have given your husband a son. Then tell them that your husband will no longer need their services, then hang up. Change your phone number if necessary.
I advised her to talk to her husband about the future and create a romantic atmosphere to remember before pregnancy times, no bickering. Demand of him to make a commitment of no more running around.
She had many objections but I wasn’t hearing it- I knew her problem as well as his. It was ego. A few weeks later, she called me and said, “me and my husband are making it and he bought me a house. We are moving. Thank you so much. I could not have done it without you. ”
I was happy for her. I only gave her the courage to stay, forgive, trust God and take her power back. In return, she stopped being a victim and enjoyed what she and her husband was blessed with. He was grateful.
This experience and my own reinforced my belief that the secret keys to lasting relationships are: belief in God, love, honesty, commitment, and forgiveness, They are essential for a lasting relationship.
When we’re genuine and share common beliefs, we pave the way for genuine connections based on trust and mutual respect. No bait and switch situations. The ability to solve relationship problems comes from honesty, forgiveness, and commitment. I have seen couples marry because they thought the other person had money and vice versa. Both were broke and lived off credit cards and loans. However, the couple made it because they loved each other and made a commitment. They adjusted expectations, dropped the pretenses, and became honest.
As we navigate the ups and downs of life together, let’s also embrace humility and patience, knowing that through the spirit of the Holy Ghost, we can find strength and guidance to fulfill our purpose. By building our relationships on the foundation of honesty and commitment we become hope and love in a world that often feels dark and divided.
Sometimes, I think we get so caught up in our emotions and worldly desires, that we lose sight of what is important and what we need.

In a world filled with constant change and shifting values, finding lasting relationships can seem like navigating through a maze. Yet, the secret to enduring connections lies not in fancy promises or deceptive allure but in the timeless principle of honesty and commitment.
Mark 3:25 KJV A house divided against itself cannot stand, so too are relationships built on the shaky ground of deceit destined to crumble. Honesty breeds trust, and trust forms the bedrock of any enduring bond. When we present ourselves honestly, without pretense or facade, we pave the way for genuine connection with genuine love.
Walking in agreement often naturally occurs among individuals who share similar values and beliefs. Like-mindedness fosters harmony and understanding, allowing relationships to flourish in mutual respect and shared purpose. However, this unity goes beyond mere agreement on surface-level matters; it stems from a deeper alignment of hearts and minds rooted in shared principles and convictions.
Yet, let us not forget that no one is perfect. We all stumble and fall short of perfection. But therein lies the beauty of grace. Through the spirit of the Holy Ghost and the forgiveness of sins upon repentance, we are made perfect in the eyes of the Divine. As Philippians 2:12-15 KJV reminds us, we are called to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, knowing that it is God who works within us to fulfill His good purposes.
In the journey of relationships, let us strive to do all things without murmuring and disputing, embracing humility and patience as we navigate the twists and turns of life together. For it is in our unity, our authenticity, and our unwavering commitment to shared values that we shine as lights in a world shrouded in darkness, serving as beacons of hope and love to those around us.
So, let us build our relationships on the solid foundation of love, forgiveness, honesty, and commitment, knowing that in doing so, we reflect the very image of the Divine and find fulfillment in the enduring bonds we create.
Philippians 2:12-15 KJV 12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14Do all things without murmurings and disputing: 15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
