ePrayer Circle Room: God Bless the Child Who Walks in Righteousness To Avoid the Wrath of God, Ezekiel 14:19 KJV

In the Bible, in the book of Ezekiel chapter 13, verse 19, it says, “And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?” This verse might sound a bit confusing, but it carries an important message about walking in righteousness.

Imagine if someone you trusted lied to you just to get a little bit of food or money. That wouldn’t feel good, right? Well, in this verse, God is upset because some people were lying to others and leading them away from God’s truth, all for their own selfish reasons.

But here’s the thing: God sees everything. He knows when people are lying and when they’re telling the truth. And He wants us to be honest and live in a way that honors Him.

The phrase “God bless the child that walk in his own righteousness” means that God blesses those who choose to do what is right in His eyes. It’s like when you choose to be kind to others, even when it’s hard, or when you tell the truth even if it might get you in trouble. God sees that, and He smiles upon you.

You see, Mama and Papa might give us lots of things in life, like food and clothes and toys, but the most important blessing we can receive comes from God. And that blessing is the gift of righteousness.

So, let’s remember to always walk in righteousness, to do what is right and true, not because we want something in return, but because it pleases God. And when we do that, we can be sure that God will bless us abundantly.

No one escapes the wrath of God.  Mama and Papa may walk in righteousness but everyone’s faith and righteousness speaks for themselves.  You can’t put your righteousness in your mama’s name.  lol.

Ezekiel 14:19-20 KJV   19Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: 20Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

Reflecting

  1. How does Ezekiel 13:19 KJV illustrate the consequences of dishonesty and selfish gain, and what does it teach us about God’s view on righteousness?
  2. In what ways do Ezekiel 14:19-20 KJV highlight the contrast between the fate of the righteous and the unrighteous, and what insights can we gain from this regarding the importance of living a righteous life?

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
