Letter From The Editor : Jesus Our Living Hope Grace and Strength During Challenging Times

In the face of profound loss, this author discovers unexpected solace through God’s grace and strength.

Proverbs 18:14 KJV  “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”

Hello ePrayer Circle Tribe,

I’m writing to you today from my dining room table, reflecting on the recent passing of my mother. She was 85 years old and passed away on Monday around 2:30 am. I want to express my deep gratitude for all your prayers and condolences during this time.

Losing my mother has been a profound experience, and I’ve been amazed by the strength and grace that the Lord has provided me. It’s shown me that even in our darkest moments, God’s strength can carry us through. This journey of grief has made me realize the importance of leaning on God’s grace and strength, not just in times of sorrow but in all aspects of life’s challenges.  Let’s talk about it.

During the week before my mother passed, I stayed by her side in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). She was in a coma and I was unwilling to leave her alone, helpless in the hands of strangers. Despite the heartache, I found solace in my faith, setting aside time each day for prayer, praise, and reflection.

Each time I opened my bible, I was led by the spirit to read scripture about strength and trust in God. After turning the page to the same message day after day, I realized there was a message for me.

One scripture that particularly resonated with me is 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

As I sat by my mother’s bedside, I felt my spirit disappearing.  I had never experienced that before. I called on the name of Jesus.  My strength returned. “He restored our souls”  The grief was overwhelming, but in those moments, I realized that the Holy Spirit had been preparing my soul for this moment. That is why I was led to scripture about strength.

People realize the importance of daily scripture reading and prayer. The Bible offers us guidance and strength, especially in times of need. Isaiah 55:11 KJV  “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

John 14:18 KJV  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”   The Lord is saying, there will be trouble but I will help you through it.

Hebrews 4:12 KJV  “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

In these challenging times, it’s crucial to remember to operate from a place of protecting our PEACE and our Souls with God’s Peace, Grace, and Strength every day. We may not be able to stop wars, shortages, climate change, economic difficulties, housing crises, epidemics, aliens, or whatever may come but we can survive all challenges we face by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Do not allow your spirit to disappear. Exploring the grace and strength that God provides is not only necessary in grief but also during hardships, relationships, difficult careers, etc…

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and a sound mind.”

Sincerely,
