Letter From the Editor’s Desk – Wisdom
Hello ePrayer Circle Tribe,
I was sitting at my computer looking at the public library site and I was marveling at the availability of education and training on any subject. God makes good on his promise. In that, all we have to do is ask and whatever we need to know will be supplied. You don’t need a degree but you do need knowledge, wisdom, and the fear of the Lord to live life as God intended for you to live it. According to the King James Bible, obtaining wisdom brings many advantages. Wisdom helps us make good decisions, understand the world around us, and live a fulfilling life.
It also helps us avoid foolishness, make better choices, and find success. Proverbs 4:7 KJV states, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting gets understanding.” In short, obtaining wisdom is essential for a meaningful and prosperous life. It is a beneficial way to enhance personal growth and character development.
I can appreciate the internet because when I was growing up, the internet with its many websites and apps was not available to the consumer. I read an article that stated that Google Earth was a technology only NASA had access to. It is a satellite view of any place on Earth. I viewed a video about funny things captured on Google Earth and saw an amazing sculpture artwork created on the ground.
Everything is on the internet concerning businesses. It can become information overload, so it is nice just to ask and receive information in conversational form with Chat GPT or similar AL technology. It’s good to be able to read company websites for information because customer service will mess you up. It seems that most customer service two-day training is telling you to go to the company’s website.
I have traveled around the world while sitting in my living room watching travel channels and YouTube travel bloggers. I have tried wonderful recipes and was introduced to vegan recipes. A friend of mine lost weight from free information on the internet – the benefits of certain foods and exercise health tips from medical doctors on YouTube. I decorated my home with tips given by professional designers’ blogs and HGTV.
I created a dynamic playlist that feeds my soul with positive energy. I discovered a business idea for some friends that neither of us would have ever thought to do. Did you know that people over 60 have a high ratio of starting successful businesses? People over 60 are also one of the biggest users of the internet because it is fascinating to us. Many are graduating from online programs and schools. Wisdom and knowledge go hand and hand in being successful in your endeavors. Networking on social media over a common interest has united and created families.
James 1:5 KJV “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
A fellow librarian gave me a book to read many years ago. It was a Christian book that had been on the New York Times Best Seller list for years. She said the young lady that wrote the book did not have an education. She dropped out in the third grade. She had seven kids, a husband, and a dog. They lived on a farm. She wrote and sent a handwritten manuscript to a publisher. Her wisdom and knowledge of God and her love for him were shared with the world. It was well received. With wisdom and knowledge and fear of the Lord, she improved her family’s financial situation without travel or elaborate expenses. The opportunity was afforded her by God. Proverbs 16:3 KJV “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”
Therefore. There is no excuse for people to walk around simple-minded. There is a price to pay for that. God made wisdom and knowledge available to anyone freely for a purpose. It is really a sin not to know anything. It’s even a bigger sin to reject instructions.
Hosea 4:6 KJV “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
Proverbs 3:18-22 King James Version 18She (wisdom) is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retains her. 19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. 21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22So shall they be life unto thy soul and grace to thy neck.
