Happy Thanksgiving. Giving In the Spirit of Love – All you do, Do it with Love.
People let us all go into this season with the Spirit of Love. If you are visiting, hosting a dinner, or volunteering at a food giveaway, do so in the spirit of love. Don’t forget to stay close to God. If you are not attending a church find a holy place to worship with other believers. Please start with your own home and family.
Eventho many say Thanksgiving is not a religious holiday, it is a spiritual holiday. It is being thankful and grateful for what you have. Many will be meeting with family and friends in the spirit of love. Remember, God is a spirit and we worship in spirit and truth. Therefore, don’t forget to praise God for all his many benefits and mercies.
Psalms 103:2 KJV “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:”

If you volunteer or head celebrations throughout this holiday season, please be mindful that you are representing good, love, and God. Many years ago, at a church, food was being given to seniors. A nice lady was talking with a volunteer about her application.
The volunteer was trying to do too many things at one time and actually yelled at the woman because she did not answer her question fast enough. Then the volunteer excused herself (embarrassed) because everything became so quiet. She did not apologize. While she was gone. The lady started to leave. I asked her to stay and reminded her to not allow the devil to take what God was blessing her with because she needed it.
She replied, “I don’t know if I want it because of the spirit it is being given”.
My heart sank for her and I agreed. I remembered when Jesus told the people some of you will kill prophets and think you are doing God a favor.
John 16:2 KJV “They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he does God service.”
***Volunteers and hostesses, do not think you are doing people a favor if you are unkind, mentally ill and not taking your medication, angry, prejudiced, or wish you were somewhere else. Are you taking home a month’s grocery later? Then you are getting paid and should do your job with a smile.
If you are hosting a dinner, don’t be rude to guest or their kids, forgive and release grudges so love can come in at family gatherings. Please be kind.
Are you helping people with money and telling everyone? You have received your reward.
Needless to say, the woman returned and apologized because a man (another volunteer) asked her to. The woman stayed and received her food with dignity.
Matthew 6:2 KJV “Therefore when thou doest thine alms (give), do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.”
