John 15:7 KJV “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (learn scripture and memorize the Word of God)
Matthew 22:29 KJV “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”
Prayer is how we communicate with God. Make prayer a priority because God answers the faith, You should pray every day. There are many prayers in Psalm in the Bible.
1 John 2:15-17 KJV 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life come not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
When praying for people, you are showing love. That is the same as saying God Speed or God Bless. You must be careful and always pray in God’s will. Pray, “if it be thy will” so you will not be judged for the persons you are praying for misdeeds. It could be God that is angry with them.
2 John 1:11 KJV “For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”
The Bible states that when you pray, pray “if thou be willing”; “If it be thy Will;” “Not my Will, but Thine Will be done;” or “Thy Will be done;” “Let it be thy Will;”
Luke 22:42KJV : Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Matthew 26:39KJV – King James Bible: He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
Always ask the Holy Spirit, the “Perfect Worshiper of God”, to lead you in prayer as intercessory, so that you may pray in spirit and truth and for the things you ought to pray for but don’t know you need to pray for. Repent your sins daily and ask for the grace to do better. Last but just as important. Reflect, praise, and thank God with gratitude, love, and thanksgiving for things he has given you the day before.
For example, you woke up in your right mind, have food to eat, you are safe, and anything that is good in your life. We do this so as to not take things for granted. Nobody wants children that ask and ask and do not take a breath to be thankful for what you have recently given them.
Sometimes we pray for things that are in the will of God but we want them for the wrong reasons.
- James 4:3 KJV Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
- A person may want to buy something to make others envious. For example, divorced or separated co-parents may buy their kids lavish gifts or parties for the child’s favor over the other parent. The other parent feels bad because they cannot afford to buy those things but provides adequate care. Both parents should talk about the type of gifts that are appropriate for the child. They should be in agreement. Do not cause the other to take a second job or get in debt trying to match gifts. Asking for money to buy these types of gifts is asking amiss because of the intent behind the gift-giving.
- Romans 14:21 KJV “It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended or is made weak.”
- You may ask for a Rolls Royce (car) to roll with people you don’t need to roll with because you may end up attracting and engaging with criminal people. Some people want money but God sees they will become criminals, alcoholics, or addicts. God knows what you can handle. Many people who won huge sums of money from the Lottery ended up in a bad way because they gained new money friends.
- Kids want high-ticket brand clothes and there are stories where they have killed their parents for them. Teach your kids that everything is lawful but everything is not profitable for them.
- Ask God what is good for you. He wants us to have spouses but let it be his will and timing. Some will marry and some will not. Don’t pray for married people’s spouses. Instead, ask for a single marriage-eligible God-fearing spouse, that is good for you. For example, a man asked God for a particular person he loved in high school to be his spouse. They broke up and he married another woman. But for many years, he often thought of his high school sweetheart “as the one who got away.”
He often compared her in thought to his wife for over 40 years. One day, he visited a friend, and this woman had moved in next door. He saw her going to her mailbox. They had a conversation, and she told him of an illness she had over 20 years and was almost bedridden. He expressed sorrow but later was so happy that he had the wife he had. They were retiring in good health. Imagine, 40 years of marriage and he always thought the grass was greener on the other side. God showed him, the wife he had was good for him. I am sure they are going into retirement with a fresh start.
Hebrews 4:16 KJV Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Ask God to bring to remembrance anyone you should pray for that needs it.
Philippians 4:11 KJV “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”
1Timothy 6: 6-11 KJV 6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
