It is Day 20 out of 45 days to study the Gospel. We are studying two lessons a day. If you did not start at day one, do not worry. Each lesson is self-contained and you can start anywhere. Please comment in the comment section of each lesson on the reflection questions or on our social media pages. The author and others will engage with you for sharing. It also supports these efforts. Take notes or copy lessons for later reviewing or sharing.

The Gospel consists of the four books in the New Testament that gives the teachings of Jesus Christ, written by John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew. Apostle Luke, a Gentile and a physician, wrote this Gospel and the Book of Acts. Luke’s work is assumed to be written in AD 60-62 during the time disciple Paul was in jail.
His works were dedicated to Theophilus, a Roman dignitary. Luke gives an ordered account of the events of Jesus’s life but not necessarily in order. His primary research was eyewitnesses, disciples, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Luke gives many accounts of Jesus’s healing ministry because Luke was a physician himself.

Chapter 17: overview of Luke Chapter 17:
Jesus tells the disciples they should not intentionally offend others, especially children. It would be better for that person if a millstone is put around his neck and he is thrown in the bottom of the river. He also tells the disciples, if a brother or sister offends one, they are to forgive and unending forgiveness. Therefore, there are no offenses where there is forgiveness.
Chapter 18: Overview of Luke Chapter 18:
This chapter describes the capturing of Jesus and the events that led up to his crucifixion. Jesus is captured and judged to die by crucifixion on the Friday of the Passover. Jesus’ disciple, Judas, betrayed Jesus’ location. Jesus’ disciple Peter denies him three times. Jesus knows in advance all things that are to happen to him. He states he came to witness to the truth and every one of the truth hears his voice.
