Daily Word: You are A New Creation in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Here are a few examples of what it might look like for a person who is brand new in Christ:
- A newfound desire to read and study the Bible: As someone begins to follow Jesus, they may feel a new desire to learn more about God’s word and what it means for their life. They may start reading the Bible regularly and seeking out resources to help them understand it better.
- A willingness to pray and seek God’s guidance: Prayer is a key part of the Christian life, and someone who is new in Christ may find themselves praying more often and with greater intentionality. They may also be more open to seeking God’s guidance in their decisions and asking for wisdom and discernment.
- A desire to connect with other believers: Community is important for Christians, and someone who is new in Christ may feel drawn to connect with other believers. They may start attending church or small group gatherings, or seek out Christian friends who can support and encourage them on their journey.
- A growing awareness of their sin and need for grace: As someone begins to understand the depth of God’s love and the sacrifice that Jesus made for them, they may also become more aware of their own sinfulness and need for forgiveness. This can lead to a greater humility and gratitude as they learn to rely on God’s grace.
- A desire to share their faith with others: Finally, someone who is new in Christ may feel a desire to share the good news of Jesus with others. This can take many forms, from simply telling friends and family about their newfound faith to getting involved in evangelism or missions work.
