Disciple Paul whose former name was King Saul wrote a letter to Timothy, a person entering into ministry. He advised him to warfare in good conscience. King Saul was in charge of killing Christians. Jesus changed King Saul’s name and role to Disciple Paul, commending him to discipleship, proving God can use anyone and forgive anyone.
King Saul had a clear conscience because he thought he was right in his persecutions. However, later as Disciple Paul, he confessed to Timothy that the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ changed him. He now saw himself the way God saw him, which gave him a new consciousness embedded in truth and love for others.
1 Timothy 1:15 “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
John 14:26 KJV “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Every man is right in his own eyes but it is the Lord that judges. Proverbs 26:12 KJV “Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.”

There are some people that are saved and know the word of God but because they chose other things over God their consciousness is influenced by Satan. The good news is that because they are still alive, they can repent. They can return to God and a state of mind that embraces love and the truth as defined by God.
Below are the types of people that do not have a good conscience and why.
Mark 4:15KJV 15And these are they by the wayside, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Mark 4:16 KJV 16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
Mark 4:17 KJV 17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
Mark 4:18 KJV 18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
Mark 4:19 KJV 19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
