Why Did God Grant Divorce for Adultery (Fornication)? Mama’s Baby Daddy’s Maybe
Remarriage, according to the King James Bible, is for a man. A woman is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives, even if she divorces him for adultery. God intended for a wife to forgive her husband. She is to ask God to reconcile differences in the marriage – more so for the sake of the family structure and provision. However, a husband is not required to keep a wife who has committed sexual immorality (fornication) because back in the day, there was no birth control and God did not require a husband to raise a child that looked like the man across the street. If a woman divorces her husband for adultery, not irreconcilable differences, she is free from the law of being intimate and living with her husband but she is not permitted to remarry unless he is dead. Many people have issues with this explanation of the bible and choose to do otherwise. They ask God to forgive them for their sins. That is up to God. There is no judgment here. In addition, divorce is granted, according to the Apostle Paul, if an unbeliever is married to a believer and no longer wishes to be married to the believer. However, it is warned not to be unequally yoked. 2 Corinthians 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
Matthew 19:9 “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committed adultery: and whoso marries her which is put away do commit adultery.”
Below is an excerpt from the bible in the New Testament. It is not a part of the Gospel. Therefore, Jesus did not command it. Paul states he had permission to write it.

A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. 16For what know thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how know thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife? 17But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called everyone, so let him walk.
