Daily Word: This Joy That I Have: The World Did Not Give It, and the World Can Not Take It Away

Life is full of challenges, but the joy God gives us stays strong. No matter what happens around us—war, bad weather, loss of loved ones, or material things—our joy in God cannot be taken away. This joy is not based on what the world gives but on our trust in God’s plan for our lives.

When we face hard times, we have a choice: we can trust God or let fear control us. God’s Word reminds us to trust Him in all circumstances because His grace is always enough (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV). Even when things feel uncertain, God is working for our good.

Throughout the Bible, God has moved His people in times of great change to give them a better life. Here are three examples:

  1. The Exodus: God led the Israelites out of Egypt, freeing them from slavery and guiding them to the Promised Land (Exodus 3:8 KJV). Though their journey was difficult, God had a plan to give them freedom and a new life.
  2. Joseph: Sold into slavery by his brothers, Joseph trusted God even in terrible situations. God later used him to save Egypt and his own family during a famine (Genesis 50:20 KJV). Joseph’s story shows how God can use bad situations for good.
  3. Ruth: Ruth left her homeland to follow her mother-in-law, Naomi, into Israel. Even though she was a foreigner, God blessed her with a new family and a new future through her marriage to Boaz (Ruth 4:13-17 KJV).

God calls us to “come out from among them” (2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV) and trust His plan. He promises, “For I know the plans I have for you,” plans to prosper and not harm us (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV). When we trust in God’s plan, He will lead us to peace and joy that no circumstance can take away.

Reflective and Journal Question: How can you trust God more when facing life’s challenges?

  CALL TO SALVATION

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
