The Foundation of the Church – Jesus Christ. How to Chose a Church to Attend by Biblical Principles.
The disciple Paul sends a letter to the church informing them that he is sending Timothy in his place. He sends a warning for the conduct of the church. The letter is important as it gives insight into what a person should consider when looking for a church to worship. Below are the most basic things you should look in a selecting a church home, regardless of a brick tradition, evangelist (home or tent), or online (virtual) church.

1. The church must believe in Jesus Christ and offer salvation. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Romans 10:9-10, Confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and John 3:5-6, be baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as directed and demonstrated by Jesus Christ. The name of God is Jesus Christ.
In Christian religious organizations, there is the doctrine of The Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all three are considered to be a form of God). Other Jesus believers confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in Jesus John3:16, the Holy Spirit and The Father as one but rather adhere to the title of non-denominational and do not refer to the doctrine entitled Trinity. Jesus is not a religion. It is so important to read the bible for yourself so you know the word of God and what to believe. Matthew 28:19 KJV “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” Colossians 2:9KJV “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

2. There is to be no division but be in the same mind and in the same judgment. Believers are to all speak the same thing (scripture). Note: This is important because a whole congregations can be judged by its conduct so it is important that the church traditions and doctrine follow the Word of God. 3. The foundation of a church is Jesus Christ as his words come with power. Marketing, branding, and fancy words are not needed, 1 Corinthians 4: 20KJV “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” 1 Corinthians 3-11 KJV 11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
4. Jesus defines the church as “My house is a place of prayer”. The church is to pray and praise the Lord in words and song. Matthew 21:13 KJV “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.” ( A house of prayer for all people) Psalms 150:6 KJV “Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”
5. The church is to be holy and purge false prophets, and leaders from the church who do not have the proper conduct. See prior post: What do Christian leaders, pastors, and bishops do not teach?
Jeremiah 23:16KJV “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.”

Make sure your household fear, love, obey, pray and praise God together. Know the scripture, the will, and the power of God by studying the word (bible). You will need to know it so when you or a member of your family including children come under spiritual attack, then you and your family will be able to stand and experience victory in Jesus Christ.

Stick to the Word of God.
Matthew 15: 7-9 KJV 7Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 10And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand 11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Believe in the right thing.

Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
The foundation of the church
My house is a house of prayer and worship: (Old Testament before Christ) Isaiah 56:7 “Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine, the house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.”

1Corinthians 3: 10-11 10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
The holiness of the church.
Here Paul reminds the church to be careful of mingling with sisters and brothers in Christ that do not obey the word of God and not to tolerate it and distance themselves until repentance. The outside (non-believers) are judged by God. Insiders are not necessarily judged but to be in order by discernment of spirit and truth. Members are not to defile the church because they could endanger the church.
Editor: Today many (not all) churches tolerate a lot of things but they are not supposed to. Many people have rejected the faith, lost faith, and gone astray because of it. It does not mean members are perfect, far from it but they are to repent with remittance (don’t do it again).
Purge disobedience and do not listen to false prophets.

1 Corinthians 5: 4-9, 11-13 KJV
