Daily Word: Spiritual Tattoos and Invisible Crowns: Marks of Faith in the Unseen Realm

In our spiritual journey, we often think about how God sees us. Imagine having tattoos and crowns that only spiritual beings can see. These are not physical marks but spiritual signs of who we are in Christ. They show our faith and how we live for God.

The Bible tells us about how God marks us. In Ezekiel 9:4 KJV, God tells an angel to mark the foreheads of those who cry out against sin. This mark shows they belong to God and are safe from harm. It is like a spiritual tattoo that protects us.

The book of Revelation also talks about the seal of God on our foreheads. Revelation 7:3 KJV  says, “Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” This seal is a sign that we are God’s people, and it protects us in times of trouble. It is a spiritual mark that shows we belong to Him.

Our actions also give us invisible crowns. In 2 Timothy 4:8 KJV, Paul talks about a crown of righteousness that the Lord will give him. This crown is not like a physical crown you wear on your head. It is a reward for living a life that pleases God. When we do good things and follow God, we earn these crowns in the spiritual world.

2 Timothy 4:8  “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Crown of Life

One Bible story that shows this is the story of Job. Job was a faithful man who went through many trials. In the end, God blessed him because he stayed true. Job did not have a visible crown, but in the spiritual realm, he had many. God saw Job’s heart and rewarded him for his faithfulness (Job 42:10-17).

In James 1:12 KJV, it says, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life.” This crown is a symbol of eternal life for those who love God and keep His commandments.

In the Bible, several types of crowns are mentioned as rewards that God gives to believers for their faithfulness and obedience. Here are the crowns that are described:
  1. Crown of Righteousness: This crown is given to those who have lived a righteous life and long for Christ’s return. It is mentioned in 2 Timothy 4:8: “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
  2. Crown of Life: Often referred to as the “martyr’s crown,” this crown is awarded to those who endure trials, persevere under suffering, and remain faithful even unto death. It is mentioned in James 1:12: “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him,” and also in Revelation 2:10.
  3. Crown of Glory: This crown is specifically for those who serve as shepherds of God’s people and faithfully lead others in the faith. It is mentioned in 1 Peter 5:4: “And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.”
  4. Crown of Rejoicing: Also known as the “soul winner’s crown,” this crown is given to those who bring others to Christ. It is mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 2:19: “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?”
  5. Imperishable Crown: This crown is given to those who practice self-discipline and strive for mastery in their Christian walk. It is mentioned in 1 Corinthians 9:25: “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”

Every time we choose to follow God, we are marked with spiritual tattoos. These marks and crowns show our true identity in the spiritual world. Even if we cannot see them, God and the angels can. They are signs of our faith and dedication to living a life for Jesus. Let us remember that our spiritual tattoos and invisible crowns are the most important things we wear.

CALL TO SALVATION

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
