Praise Sunday: The God Who Sees – Featuring Nicole C. Mullen LIVE

This story song beautifully tells the story of women in the bible that experience levels of spiritual greatness because of their obedience and faith in God. The song tells the lineage of Jesus Christ. The Song covers Hagar, Ruth, King David, Jesus, and Mary Madeline. God delivered and watched over them through each one’s struggle.

Hagar is a female figure in the Old Testament of the Bible, who was an Egyptian slave belonging to Sarah, the wife of Abraham. Hagar became pregnant with Abraham’s child, Ishmael, and was later cast out into the wilderness with her son at the request of Sarah.  This song tells of God’s love as he takes care of Hagar and her son. This song tells of Ruth.  Ruth is the title character of the Book of Ruth, a Moabite woman who married into an Israelite family and became an ancestor of King David.  Jesus Christ is born in the lineage of King David.  David is a mighty warrior and anointed king.  Mary and Joseph were both from the lineage of King David.  Jesus the Messiah is born to Mary.  The song closes with a once demon-filled Mary Madeline deliverance by Jesus. Mary Madeline is one of the women that discover Jesus’s empty tomb and that Jesus is Risen.

Lyrics

Hagar was a single motherShe was abandoned by the family she belonged toAnd there in the wilderness with her son aloneWith very little provisionShe was wonderingShe was questioningDoes anyone care?
She’s crying in the desertShe’s lost in her despairShe thinks nobody loves herHagar thinks nobody’s thereBut God says

I will be a ring of fire around herAnd I will be the glory in her midstAnd the power of my presenceWill bring her to her kneesAnd I will lift her up againFor I’m the God who seesI’m the God who sees

Then He speaks in gentle whispersAnd He softly calls her nameShe feels His arms enfold herAs He holds herAnd she’ll never be the same
‘Cause I’m the God who never changesAnd My promises are trueAnd when this world deserts youThis is what I’ll do

And then there is another woman named RuthShe was from the land of MoabAnd she was met with grief and heartacheShe was a widow and she lived with her mother-in-law, who was also a widow

And now it was time to move onBut Ruth had never been to BethlehemShe had never tasted of the House of BreadBut now she had heard an inner invitation to come and taste and seeAnd so she vowed herself to her mother-in-lawAnd she said where you go I will goWhere you lie I will lieWhere you die I will die

And she begins a journey to the Promised Land
She’s traveling through the desertAnd she’s leaving her despairShe’s hoping for a futurePraying God will lead her thereAnd He says

I will put a ring around your fingerAnd I will bless a child within your wombAnd the Savior will be born through youTo free the world from sinAnd He’ll make all things new for youAnd love you back to life again, again
And then from Ruth who gave birth to a sonObed who gave birth to a sonJesse who gave birth to a sonNamed David Now the same, once shepherd boyMighty warrior, anointed king is aloneTerrified in the darkness
He’s hiding in the desertHe’s battling despairDavid thinks his life is over, it’s overAnd God, He doesn’t careBut God says

I will be the Rock of your salvationI’ll hold you up by the strength of My right handAnd the power of My SpiritWill free you from all fearIn the hour of your deepest needYou’ll find that I am nearI am here

And I will be a ring of fire around youAnd I will be the glory in your midstAnd the power of My presenceWill bring you to your kneesThen I will lift you up againFor I’m the God who sees
And then from the line of DavidFinally, Jesus the MessiahThe Anointed One, Yeshua, the Christ

Born in the same House of Bread to be the Bread of LifeIn the town of BethlehemAnd He would growAnd He would be called the Son of GodHe would be called Emmanuel, God With UsAnd He would heal, and He would reveal
And then He had an encounter with a womanNamed Mary of Magdalen who was plagued by demonsTormented by evil spirits, Jesus set her freeAnd Mary followed Him, she listened at His feetShe served Him, and she loved HimOh how she loved Him

But then she watched as they nailed Him to the crossAnd as they placed His body in the tombIn that moment her hope died, it died
She’s crying in the gardenShe’s broken in despairShe’s searching for her SaviorBut His body isn’t there

Then He says, Mary
Glory, glory, glory, HallelujahI will be the glory in Your midstAnd every knee will bow to MeAnd every tongue confessYes all the world will worship MeIn all My Holiness

I will be a ring of fire around youAnd I will be the glory in your midstAnd the power of My presenceWill bring you to your kneesAnd I will lift you up againFor I’m the God who sees, who seesI’m the God who sees

Oh I’m the God who sees, I see youI’m the God who sees you in your wildernessSees you in your brokennessWhen you’re feeling lonely, I’m the God who seesIn the desert places, in your empty spacesI’m the God who seesI’m nearer than you dare believeHere in the very air you breatheI’m the God who sees You

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
