Luke 19:37-43 KJV tells the story of Jesus entering Jerusalem. The people were very happy and praised God loudly for the miracles they had seen. They shouted, “Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord.” Some Pharisees asked Jesus to stop the people, but He said that if these should hold thy peace, the stones would cry out. As Jesus saw the city, He wept over it, saying they missed the chance for peace because they didn’t recognize God’s coming. This passage shows how important it is to recognize and accept Jesus, as missing this can lead to regret and sorrow. Let’s always be open to God’s presence and blessings in our lives and give him praise.
Reflective question: How can we make sure we recognize and embrace God’s presence in our daily lives?
Aware Worship is a worship collective founded by Calvin Nowell. This summer we found ourselves ministering to each other at The Aware Worship Worship Retreat in Nashville, TN. This worship song was taught on the spot and lead by worship leader, Tinika Wyatt.
LYRICS:
[Verse]
I can’t deny what You’ve done for me
Loosed all my shackles and set me free
Robed me and gave me the victory
I got a reason, a reason to praise
I can’t ignore what my eyes have seen
What seemed impossible, I believe Look at my life,
we got history I got a reason, a reason, to praise
