Please Take A Seat and Have a Piece of Humble Pie

One trait mention in the bible is humility.  Moses, one of the greatest prophets that lead his people to freedom with power from God was also known to be a very humble person.  Jesus was also humble. He walked most places and worked as a carpenter. He did not own a house, horse, or donkey.  He came to give people salvation and demonstrated that salvation is free for everyone. He tells us that vanity is a sin.

Often he tells us not to give ourselves or others flattering titles. We are all sisters and brothers in Christ.  Reflect: Can you think of a time you may have hurt someone’s feelings (and you were wrong) but did not apologize because of vanity and pride?

That type of behavior keeps us from agreeing with God when we are wrong. It keeps us from repenting.  The good news is that the Lord gives us his spirit, Holy Spirit, so we may have his grace to do better.  Amen.

Luke 17:10  “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Call to salvation

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
