Daily Word: Brace Yourself. What’s in the Dark Will Come to the Light

In life, we often see people pretending to be one thing in public but acting differently in private. The Bible teaches us a clear truth: what is done in the dark will come to the light. God, who sees all, declares that everyone reaps what they sow. Galatians 6:7 (KJV) says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” This means that no matter how we try to hide our actions, both good and bad will eventually be revealed.

God Judges Nations

God is not only concerned with individuals but with entire nations. Throughout history, God has judged nations based on their actions. A nation that follows God’s commandments and seeks righteousness will be blessed. However, if a nation turns away from Him, they will face consequences. In Proverbs 14:34 (KJV), it says, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Nations that choose to live in wickedness and injustice will face God’s judgment, and no one is exempt.

Luke 8:17 KJV “For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.” Luke 12: 2- 5 KJV²For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.³Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. ⁴And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. ⁵But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

A Bible story that ties all these points together is the story of Achan’s sin found in Joshua 7. After the victory at Jericho, God commanded the Israelites not to take any of the devoted items from the city, but Achan disobeyed and secretly took some for himself. Although he thought his actions were hidden, God revealed Achan’s sin, and the entire nation suffered a defeat at Ai because of it.

We Are All One in Christ

In Galatians 3:28 (KJV), we are reminded of the equality we share in Christ: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” This teaches us that God shows no favoritism. Whether individuals or nations, all will be judged according to their deeds. Those who seek God and walk in righteousness will find favor and protection.

God’s Protection for the Righteous

Even in the midst of destruction, God promises to protect those who seek Him. Psalm 91:7 (KJV) tells us, “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.” This means that while chaos may surround us, God’s protection will keep us safe when we trust in Him.

Conclusion

We must always remember that we will reap what we sow. The deeds done in secret will be brought into the light. Both individuals and nations will face God’s judgment, and the righteous will find His protection even in troubled times. Seek God, obey His commands, and trust in His promises for true peace and safety.
