Passover : The Burial – God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 KJV
We were all sinners. Sin made us enemies of God. Then Christ died for us – the ungodly, justifying us by his blood saving us with his life. Romans 5: 11KJV 11And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Romans 5:8 KJV “But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus was buried because Pontius Pilate (Governor of the Roman province of Judea) did not want out-of- towners and his people celebrating the Passover to see the dead bodies on the crucifixion cross. In addition, celebrating the Passover was a command by God to celebrate before Jesus was born during the days of the Prophet Moses. God instructed Moses to tell Pharaoh (king of Egyptians) to “Let my people go.” Pharaoh worked the people so hard, they had no time to worship God nor live according to God’s commands. After several warnings through the Prophet Moses, God brought several plagues on Pharaoh’s people.
The last led to the famous story “The Red Sea.” The last plague killed every first born in one day because of Pharaoh’s disobedience to free God’s people. Lamb blood was put on the outside doors and gates of the Israelites (Moses people) so the plague would pass by their houses. The Israelites’ first born children would not be killed.
The next day, it was discovered that Pharaoh’s son was killed as well with the plague. Pharaoh was so upset he ordered Moses and his people to leave. Then followed them with his army to kill them. Moses and his people escaped Pharaoh’s army by passing through a trail in the middle of the “Red Sea” that God provided for them.
God commanded with details how the Israelites are to celebrate that victory from that day forward as a reminder of what he had done.
Exodus 12: 13- 16 KJV 13And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. 14And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
15Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. 16And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
Note: Today there are many variations of unleavened bread. Leaven bread contains yeast or some leaven agent. Click here for more info. Unleavened bread is bread that is made with nothing in it to make it rise: that is, no leavening, be it a chemical leavener, a yeast or a starter dough. Well-known examples are chapati, matzo and Mexican tortillas. Not all flat breads, however, are necessarily unleavened. Wheat tortillas contain baking soda (a leaven agent.)
Passover today: Passover, also called Pesach (/ˈpɛsɑːx, ˈpeɪ-/;[2] Biblical Hebrew: חַג הַפֶּסַח Ḥag hapPesaḥ), is a major Jewish holiday that celebrates the exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt,[3] which occurs on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Nisan, the first month of Aviv, or spring. The word Pesach or Passover can also refer to the Korban Pesach, the paschal lamb that was offered when the Temple in Jerusalem stood; to the Passover Seder, the ritual meal on Passover night; or to the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
One of the biblically ordained Three Pilgrimage Festivals, Passover is traditionally celebrated in the Land of Israel for seven days and for eight days among many Jews in the Diaspora, based on the concept of yom tov sheni shel galuyot. In the bible the seven-day holiday is known as Chag HaMatzot, the feast of unleavened bread (matzoh).[4] Source (Retrieved from the Internet Wikipedia on April 14, 2022 from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passover)

CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit. (Get Baptized)
