No More Cold War: Reignite the Spark in Marriage and Long Term Relationships: Ephesians 4:32 KJV

Keywords: Ephesians 4:2-3,  Ephesians 4: 32, repentance, relationships, marriage, forgiveness, communication, love, conflict resolution.

Feeling disconnected from your spouse? This verse from Ephesians offers practical advice on how to reignite the spark in your marriage through repentance and forgiveness. Remember love comes from the truth. If there is no truth, then how do you know if it is love? God is love.  It’s just that simple.

Ephesians 4:32 KJV  “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

Ephesians 5:33 KJV  “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”

Note: Reverence means deep respect for someone or something. Reverence is profound respect and love.  (Source: Oxford Language Dictionary)

Matthew 7:5 KJV  “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

GOD IS LOVE

Ephesians 4:2-7 KJV   2With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

The flame of love in a marriage can sometimes flicker and fade. Ephesians 4:2-3 encourages us to be patient, kind, and humble towards our spouses, actively seeking understanding and reconciliation.

By acknowledging our mistakes and repenting with remittance, expressing forgiveness, and working towards better communication, we can rekindle the spark in our marriage and long-term relationships. Inturn build a stronger, more fulfilling relationship.

Real-world example: After years of feeling neglected and unappreciated, Emily decided to have an honest conversation with her husband, David.

She shared her feelings and acknowledged her contributions to the distance between them. David, listening attentively, expressed his remorse and apologized for his shortcomings.

Through open communication and a commitment to change, Emily and David were able to reignite the love in their marriage and build a stronger foundation for their future.

Matthew 18:19 KJV  “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 KJV  “And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12 KJV  9Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone12And if one prevails against him, two shall withstand him, and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

The fire of passion in a long-term relationship can sometimes seem to fade over time. However, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 reminds us that love is not just a feeling; it’s a choice and a commitment. By acknowledging areas where we may have fallen short, practicing patience and kindness, and actively expressing love through words and actions, we can reignite the flame of romance and strengthen our bond with our partner.

 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 KJV

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,”  5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
