Letter From The Editors Desk: Understanding the Holy Spirit: Discerning the Walk with God
Hello ePrayer Circle Tribe,
As I meditate on this scripture, I can’t help but notice how people seem to be changing, and the concept of truth appears to be losing its value.
John 14:17 KJV says, “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
It feels like truth has become subjective, dictated by whoever wields the most influence. This shift is concerning. I recall a moment in a corporate meeting where an executive boldly claimed that contracts are the lifeblood of our economy. According to him, businesses cannot thrive without them.
The reliability of contracts is paramount. Just as the Constitution was once a steadfast foundation, we now find ourselves in a society where connections matter more than integrity. Money talks, and truth seems to take a back seat.
In recent years, the idea of truth has become malleable, especially in politics. The U.S. operates without a budget while dispensing millions and billions of dollars. Campaign promises are made and forgotten. It’s supposed to be a democracy, but it often feels more like a game of power and influence.
In our faith journey, discernment is crucial. It helps us distinguish those who walk with God from those who do not. The Holy Spirit, also known as the Spirit of Truth, guides us in this discernment. Let’s delve into how we can rely on Him to navigate our relationships, workplaces, and interactions with relatives.
The Holy Spirit helps us discern the authenticity of one’s walk with God. In relationships, we can observe the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). When we see these qualities in others, we can recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
In the workplace, the Holy Spirit gives us wisdom and discernment to recognize integrity and honesty in our colleagues. A person who is led by the Spirit will demonstrate honesty in their work and interactions, reflecting the character of God. Proverbs 11:3 3The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. .
With relatives, the Holy Spirit helps us navigate complex family dynamics. He enables us to respond with love and patience, even in challenging situations, reflecting the love of Christ. Colossians 3:11-14.11Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. 12Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Consider a coworker who consistently demonstrates kindness and humility in their interactions with others. Despite facing challenges at work, they remain positive and encouraging. Through their actions, we can discern that they are walking with God, guided by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit empowers us to discern the authenticity of one’s walk with God in various aspects of life. By relying on Him, we can navigate relationships, the workplace, and interactions with relatives, recognizing those who are truly led by the Spirit.
May the Peace of God Be With You,

Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
