I am sitting writing in my journal, I was thinking about an old saying my father would say. Never cut off your nose to spite your face. It’s funny if you think of someone cutting off their nose. He meant it as a figure of speech but as I grew up, I have seen time and time again people making bad choices for themselves just to hurt someone else. Most of the time it is because of resentment, grudges, jealousy or competing for a job they don’t want. It’s usually against friends, parents, sisters, brothers, schoolmates, co-workers, roommates, church members, and or neighbors. Regardless, of what the reason, it is a form of hate. The spiritual world acts on agreement. When you speak you are agreeing with the devil creating curses or empowering angels, whether you are conscious of it or not.
Unforgiveness is one reason there are so many senseless killings. People killing single parents with several children in their care. Making the kids orphans and many times the kids are theirs. The killer is in jail for life and overcrowds the state system to care for their children if no close relative will take them. I pray daily for orphans, motherless and fatherless kids (living with a guardian), and kids with parents who need help. I pray you do the same. Please don’t forget to pray for seniors. Children and seniors are our most vulnerable populations.
James 1:27 KJV “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
Age does not have a number on hate. It’s all foolishness from Satan. He convinces people through strong emotions that it is so real that it is worth dying over-eternal death. These emotions or attitudes leave no place for God’s healing or restoration. There is no place for hate in heaven. I’m not saying you should not protect yourself from people who are trying to kill you or your family or cause great harm, we know that exists as never before but make sure it is that type of situation because most of the time it is not.
You can’t say you forgive others but act as if you are still holding something against them. Don’t get left behind. God will not be fooled or mocked. Receive your blessings and miracles with a clean heart. Does anyone think that God wants people in heaven that hold grudges or unforgiveness in their hearts, have low-down ways, or go years without speaking to others?
Matthew 6:10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (The Lords Prayer)
James 3:7-10 KJV 7For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed,
and hath been tamed of mankind: 8But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
- The Essence of Jesus’ Teachings: Central to the teachings of Jesus Christ is the principle of love and reconciliation. He emphasized the importance of unity and forgiveness as foundational elements for a thriving community. Jesus taught that genuine agreement, founded on love and understanding, has the power to foster harmony, restore broken relationships, and bring about personal and communal healing.
- The Healing Power of Agreement: When individuals agree in the spirit of love and forgiveness, remarkable transformations can occur. Jesus often spoke about the power of agreement in prayer, stating that “if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:19). This demonstrates the efficacy of unified intentions and the power of collective faith in bringing about positive change.
Matthew 18:19 KJV “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
- Forgiveness as a Catalyst for Healing: Forgiveness lies at the heart of Jesus’ message. He exemplified forgiveness through his own actions, teaching his followers to forgive not just once, but repeatedly. Jesus believed that forgiveness has the potential to release individuals from the burden of resentment, restore broken relationships, and bring about inner healing. Through parables such as the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32), Jesus illustrated the transformative power of forgiveness and its ability to bridge divides.
- Overcoming Barriers and Cultivating Agreement: Forgiveness can be challenging, particularly in situations where deep wounds have been inflicted. However, Jesus emphasized the necessity of forgiveness as a means to break down barriers and promote reconciliation. He taught his disciples to seek reconciliation actively, urging them to leave their gifts at the altar and be reconciled with their brothers and sisters before presenting offerings (Matthew 5:23-24). This emphasizes the priority of restoring relationships over religious rituals. However, please do not agree with things or situations that are not within God’s will because that can get you into trouble. Pray for guidance and study the word of God.
Matthew 22:29 KJV “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.”
Matthew 6:15 KJV “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
- The Impact of Agreement and Forgiveness on Personal Growth: Agreement and forgiveness are not only transformative for interpersonal relationships but also for personal growth. Embracing forgiveness allows individuals to let go of past hurts, enabling them to focus on personal development and the pursuit of a more meaningful life. By fostering an environment of agreement and forgiveness, individuals can create a space for personal growth, spiritual nourishment, and the manifestation of Jesus’ teachings in their lives. Forgiveness does not make you a weak person, in fact, it takes a strong person to forgive when they feel wronged. Forgiving is freeing yourself from the emotional strongholds of Satan.
Luke 23:34 KJV “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
Conclusion: The power of agreement and forgiveness, as espoused by Jesus Christ, is profound and transformative. By embracing these principles, individuals can experience healing, restoration, and personal growth. The agreement allows us to harness the collective power of unity, while forgiveness liberates us from the bondage of resentment, fostering reconciliation and promoting harmonious relationships. As we strive to apply these teachings in our lives, we not only embody the essence of Jesus’ message but also contribute to the creation of a more compassionate and harmonious world.

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
