Welcome ePrayer Circle’s Tribe,

There is a lot of reported news of conflicts around the world that cause anxiety. The US is engaged in battle with other countries, poverty of its marginalized citizens, and kidnapping of women and children,  In addition, Christians are being persecuted all over the world, warnings of another epidemic, and several US states are having problems with illegal immigration.

We all know who is the author of confusion which includes lying, stealing, and killing.  It is Satan, the father of lies and the prince of the air.  He keeps everyone fighting and distracted so he can steal your faith, and then he will take your soul.  Recently, there have been testimonies of people seeing demons and aliens in public places.

You know we are all God’s creations so I will not speak against anyone but we must realize in all these situations rules and policies are installed to protect everyone because unfortunately, many people do not do the right thing. That is why Jesus made rules and commandments so that we will know his will and teachings as well as his commandments. So we may enjoy the blessings of God, and an abundant life. Therefore, even heaven has rules. This is what brings me to my topic today, Let us change our conversation and start walking in truth and spirit.

Do you have your ticket to get into heaven, where everyone is welcome as long as each one loves, believes, and obeys Jesus Christ?  If you are not sure then I encourage you, to get to know Jesus Christ, get saved (See offer below), and walk in spirit and truth.  I want to talk to you about reflecting on the significance of gratitude, the seriousness of the sin of lying, and the biblical call to live by God’s Word. Let’s talk about it.

Gratitude

Romans 14:16-19 KJV  16Let not then your good be evil spoken of 17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19Let us therefore follow after the things that make for peace and things wherewith one may edify another.

  • Ephesians 5:19-21 KJV – A Call to Gratitude: In Ephesians 5:19-21, the Apostle Paul urges believers to express their gratitude through worship, singing hymns, and giving thanks always. This teaches us the importance of acknowledging God’s blessings in our lives. Gratitude is not just a fleeting emotion but a lifestyle that reflects our appreciation for the goodness of God.

Real World Example 1: Jesus healed ten men with leprosy (skin disease) spiritually, then sent them to the king to tell of the miracle he had performed. As they walked in belief, they were cleansed of the leprosy physically. One came back to Thank Jesus. Jesus was surprised only one out of ten thanked him and expressed gratitude and worship. How many times a week do you worship God with praise for what you already have?

Key Verse: Ephesians 5:16-21 KJV16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Luke 17:12-18 KJV  12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

  • John 4:23 KJV- Walking in Spirit and Truth: Jesus, in John 4:23, emphasizes the worship that God desires – worship in spirit and truth. Walking in spirit involves aligning our hearts and minds with the Holy Spirit while walking in truth requires living by God’s Word and speaking what is truth. God is true. This integrated approach to worship fosters a deep connection with God.

Real-world Example 2: A Genuine Act of Kindness Walking in spirit and truth can mean performing acts of kindness not for show, but with a sincere and compassionate heart. For instance, helping a neighbor in need without seeking recognition or expecting anything in return demonstrates a genuine spirit aligned with the truth of Christ’s teachings.

Key Verse: John 4:24 KJV – God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.

  • The Sin of Lying: Addressing the severity of lying, we turn to Proverbs 12:22 (KJV), which states that lying lips are an abomination to the Lord. Even seemingly harmless “white lies” and half-truths are considered sinful. Theft by deception, keeping silent to deceive or manipulate, false witnessing, and any form of dishonesty is contrary to the Christian walk.

Believers are to speak the truth because God is Truth. Believers are to repent all lies because unrepented lying with remittance is a sin that opens doors to spiritual attacks that will leave you defenseless. Especially, if you hurt someone with a lie and would not repent it.

Real-world Example 3: Resisting Temptation Walking in the spirit involves resisting the temptations and desires of the flesh. For instance, a person facing the temptation to gossip or speak ill of others chooses instead to walk in the spirit by refraining from engaging in harmful conversations, aligning their actions with the truth of love and compassion.

Key Verse: Proverbs 12:22 KJV – Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

In conclusion, our journey through Ephesians 5:19-21 KJV, Proverbs 12:22 KJV, and John 4:23 KJV has shed light on the importance of walking in truth and spirit. Gratitude is the foundation of worship, and living an honest life is an essential aspect of our Christian walk.

Let us be mindful of the seriousness of the sin of lying, understanding that every sin, big or small, distances us from God. As we strive to live authentically, may our actions and words reflect the love and truth of our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
