Letter from the Editor: What is the Truth? Does Anybody Know Anymore?
Hello ePrayer Circle Tribe,
I am drinking coffee and thinking about how the lines of reality and imagined realities are so blurred. It seems to depend on how skilled the copywriter or public relations person is, or how charismatic the speaker is that you are listening to on the various media platforms, including social media.
When is it going to stop? Are there any limits? In today’s world, finding the truth can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Everywhere we look, politics, marketing, and technology are shaping our perceptions and beliefs. But what is the truth? Does anybody really know anymore?
Did you know that each of us makes choices based on what we perceive the predicted outcome to be or based on our belief system? Every day, we make decisions that shape our lives. Sometimes we get it right, but other times we may choose wrong.
The Bible tells us that we reap what we sow, whether good or bad. It is always better to make choices when the truth is known.
Let’s start with politics. Laws and wars can change societies, sometimes for the better, and sometimes not. Politicians make promises, but do they always keep them? We must remember that there are natural consequences to every action. For every action in life there is a reaction.
In psychology, it’s well known that consequences change behaviors. This is true in every situation and age is just a number.
Marketing is another area where truth can be hard to find. Advertisers tell us what we want to hear to sell products. They use clever words and images to make us believe in their products. But is everything they say true? Often, it’s not. Check the various recall of products website.
Then there’s the revolution in AI and images. With new technology, people can create pictures, videos and satelite projections that look real but are entirely fake. These images can change our perspectives and make us believe in things that never happened. Deception is all around and has turned into the new method of doing things.
In all this confusion, where do we turn for the truth? As Christians, we know that the answer lies in the word of God. (John 14:6-7 KJV) 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.”
He also said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32 KJV). Jesus is the ultimate truth, and His teachings guide us on the right path.
The Holy Spirit helps us understand the truth and not be led astray. God’s word is our anchor in a world full of deception. When we look to the Lord, He will guide us with His eye and shake the evil out of our day. This guidance is part of living abundantly – a promise from God.
When you pray, Father in Jesus name, guide me (name others) and shake the evil out of my (our) day so your protection goes before me (us) in all situations. Teach your children as well by praying with them.
John 10:10 KJV “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
In conclusion, while the world around us may be confusing, we have a solid foundation in Jesus. Let us not be swayed by the changing tides of politics, marketing, social media, or technology. Instead, let’s hold fast to the truth found in God’s word.
Reflection Question: How can we ensure that we are not deceived by the false truths presented in today’s world?
May Our Living Hope Find You Faithful,

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
