Be still and Know that I am God. Psalm 46:10 KJV
Hello ePrayer Circle’s Tribe,
Last week, I reflected on the many battles I faced, and despite the challenges, I emerged victorious. Today, I want to share how we can overcome our battles, even when we have no idea how we’ll make it through.
In life, we all face battles—whether it’s with our family, friends, at work, or even within ourselves. It’s important to know that God is with us in these battles, just like He was with David when he faced the Philistines. In 2 Samuel 5:22-25 KJV, David asked God if he can fight the Philistines and win. God told him to take his soldiers and to wait by the mulberry trees. Then listen for the sound of marching before moving forward. David obeyed, he listen for the marching as God’s army was going ahead of him. Then David and his army proceeded to war and won the battle.
Deuteronomy 28:7 KJV The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.”
This story shows us that when we wait on the Lord and trust in His timing, He fights for us. He will also fight for our children. Maybe you are dealing with challenging situations, like a rebellious child, a difficult coworker, or an unfair boss. Perhaps you face challenges in your business or with someone who has set themselves against you. In all these battles, God can go before you and fight for you, but He requires obedience. Just like David waited, we must also wait on God’s instructions.
John 14:15 KJV “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
My scripture reading reminded me of a time when I volunteered at a book fair at the elementary school my daughter attended. My shift was only an hour, and it was my turn to be the book fair lady that week. During my shift, a young mother came in with her two little boys, ages 5 and 6. She was dropping one off at school. When she thought my back was turned, I overheard her telling the boys to sneak under the booth’s curtain and steal some books. The boys were hesitant, but she encouraged them.
I waited, and when they were about to crawl back under the curtain with the books, I stepped in their way and kindly asked them to return the books. They were so scared that they quickly put the books back and went back to their mother, who was standing on the other side of the curtain.
I looked directly at her and said, “Don’t encourage your children to steal, or you’ll be getting them out of jail when they grow older. Is that what you want for them?” She, a young mother, denied it, claiming she never told them to steal. But I had heard her and seen everything.
I firmly told her, “You did. If you had asked, I would have given them a book. You didn’t ask, and they didn’t want to do it.” I added, “Don’t lead your kids into the fire. Do better. Give them better.” I explained that I would have even taken the book out of my own allowance as a volunteer parent for the week. She quietly walked her kids to her son’s class.
We have a responsibility to teach our children the right way, not to lead them into sin, like stealing or other harmful behaviors. These are spiritual battles that lead both parents and their children into the fire. It’s up to us to set a better example. You don’t have to be rich or perfect to do that. You just have to love them.
2 Kings 21:6 KJV “And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.”
God wants us to be obedient in our walk with Him. Many cry, “Lord, Lord,” and look good on the outside, so much so that many will call them “choice silver” but God knows their hearts. They have not truly repented. Repentance means more than saying “forgive me”; it means turning away from sin and not repeating it. It means to make amends if possible.
Jesus Christ died and shed His blood for us so that we can have freedom and victory. When we have battles he will gladly help us and fight for us. He gives us truths, strength, courage and increases our faith to endure and win the challenges we face.
John 10:10 KJV “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” The thief is Satan.
Jesus Christ through his Holy Spirit guides our feet and shakes the evil our of our days and nights. He changes minds and hearts. He opens doors, opportunities and yes, even pay bills. However, You must have a sincere love for Jesus. “If you love me obey me”.
God’s rules are there to protect us, just like most parents set rules for their child’s safety. We must fear the Lord and respect His ways because He only wants the best for us. Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
