Letter From the Editor: Do Not Allow Discord Into Your Life.
Hello ePrayer Circle’s Tribe,
After praying and morning devotion, I am thinking of all the chaos going on in the world. Its gets bigger and bigger. Hold on to your seats. Regardless, of the world, family and there are many types of families, should be each one of us focus and priority.
It’s important to address the issues of disagreement, disobedience, and division within a family from both a spiritual and practical perspective.
These challenges can significantly impact not only the current generation but also future generations. Reconciliation and unity are crucial to God’s plan for families, as they reflect the love and harmony He desires for all His children. Let’s talk.
Understanding the Enemy’s Tactics
The enemy uses various tactics to divide families, such as:
- Hate: When family members harbor hate, it creates a toxic environment. Hatred can lead to resentment and bitterness, which prevent genuine communication and healing.
- Anger: Unresolved anger can escalate conflicts and drive a wedge between family members. It often results in harsh words and actions that are difficult to retract.
- Separation: Physical or emotional separation weakens family bonds. The enemy thrives on isolation, making individuals feel alone and unsupported.
Scriptural Basis for Reconciliation
God emphasizes the importance of reconciliation and love within families:
- Matthew 5:23-24 (KJV):
“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
- Ephesians 4:32 (KJV):
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
- Colossians 3:13-14 (KJV):
“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”
Impact of Dysfunctional Families on Future Generations
Dysfunctional families can have profound negative effects on children and future generations. Children growing up in such environments may struggle with trust issues, low self-esteem, and poor relationship skills. These issues can lead to:
- Substance Abuse: In an attempt to cope with emotional pain, some may turn to drugs or alcohol.
- Fornication and Adultery: A lack of a stable family model can lead to unhealthy views on relationships and sexual behavior.
- Emotional Instability: The emotional scars from a dysfunctional family can result in mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety.
God’s Plan for Families
God’s law to love Him and love each other more than ourselves is the foundation of a healthy family. As stated in:
“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
When each family member strives to love and obey God, the family unit becomes a source of joy and support that the world cannot take away.
Practical Steps to Reconciliation
- Communication: Encourage open and honest communication. Let each family member express their feelings without fear of judgment.
- Forgiveness: Teach the importance of forgiveness. Holding onto grudges only deepens the division.
- Prayer: Pray together as a family. Seek God’s guidance and healing in your relationships.
- Counseling: Sometimes, professional Christian counseling can provide tools and strategies to overcome deep-seated issues.
In conclusion, reconciliation is essential to God’s plan for families. By understanding the enemy’s tactics and relying on God’s word, families can overcome the spirits of hate, anger, and separation.
Loving and obeying God brings a joy and love that the world cannot take away, and it ensures that future generations grow up in a healthy, supportive environment. Remember, as it is in heaven, so it should be on earth. Let us strive to love one another as Christ loves us.
Reflective Question: How can our family better demonstrate God’s love and forgiveness to overcome conflicts and build a stronger bond?

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
