Letter From Editor: Why So Many Scandals in The Christian Faith?
Hello, ePrayer Circle’s Tribe,
James 2:19 KJV “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
In recent times, we’ve seen numerous scandals within the Christian faith, leaving many believers troubled and confused as they look to their leaders for guidance and inspiration. Why do these scandals happen? The Bible offers us valuable insights.
I had a personal encounter that opened my eyes to this issue. While shopping in a department store, I was approached by people inviting me to their new church. They spoke about the Christian Bible but soon introduced the idea of two gods: one the Father and the other the Mother. When I quoted scripture to refute their claim, they twisted the Bible to fit their interpretation, which clearly strayed from the truth.
If I did not know the Bible, I would not have recognized they were not Christians and would not have been able to explain the truth to them. 1 Peter 3:15 (KJV) says, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” This verse reminds us of the importance of knowing and defending our faith.
Through their conversations, it became clear they did not accept the truth of one God and they were witches. Satan often disguises himself to deceive believers. They were of different races and ages, and they used the Bible to deceive others with untruths and wrong interpretations on purpose—a classic bait-and-switch tactic.
To join a Christian church in the Lord, the believer must confess with their mouth that “Jesus is Lord” or by their own mouth pray in “Jesus’ name” otherwise they are not a member of the body of Christ’s bride-The church. See call to Salvation below. However, they may attend the church and go to Sunday School to learn of Christ until they decide to join and give their lives to him.
This process keeps Satan worshippers, anti christians, and non humans from joining the church-keeping the church Holy with the Holy Spirit.
Satan is stepping up his game, and this is not the time to be unlearned of the Bible and Gospel. The witches called their convenant a church. A church is defined as the foundation on Jesus Christ even in modern dictionaries.
This experience highlighted a critical issue: many people leading Christians are not true believers and have hidden agendas such as growth, money, and condemnation. Let’s talk about it.
In 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 (KJV), we are warned: “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” This means that even those who appear righteous can be deceitful. Satan and his followers can disguise themselves to lead believers astray.
One reason for these scandals is that some leaders are lukewarm in their faith. Revelation 3:16 (KJV) tells us, “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Lukewarm faith can lead to moral failings and scandals, as it lacks the commitment and fervor needed to live a truly Christian life.
Another important reason is that many believers do not read and study the Bible regularly. Hosea 4:6 (KJV) says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Without a strong foundation in God’s word, it becomes easier to be misled by false teachings and deceptive leaders.
James 1:5 KJV “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
John 14:26 KJV “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Furthermore, Matthew 15:14 (KJV) warns, “Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” Blindly following leaders without discernment can lead to spiritual and moral downfall.
So, what can we do? We must study the bible. We must pray for the church, others and especially over our children. Ephesians 6:18 (KJV) encourages us to pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. Praying for others strengthens the body of Christ and provides protection against deception. If bad practices continue ask God to lead you to another church. Do not continue to follow these people.
In conclusion, it is crucial for believers to be vigilant and discerning. We must read and study the Bible regularly, stay fervent in our faith, and pray continually for ourselves and others. By doing so, we can guard against scandals and stay true to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
