How Do We Know Who is Telling the Truth or What is the Truth?
Today, I am covering a scripture from the Gospel of Luke because it states why people receive the truth and reject it. Luke states that there are three types that reject the truth when they receive it. 1. They are not saved so the devil does not let them receive the truth. 2. They are saved but give into temptations (sexual, violence, substances..) and compromise the truth 3. They are saved but they lust after worldly possessions such as the “love of money” and do not care about the truth. The lie becomes the truth.
It’s not that most people don’t know the truth, they don’t care about it because they want what they want. We live in a world of trickery and manipulation. It seems as if everyone is bombarded with information overload: TV platforms, radio, campaigns, internet blogs, social media, podcasts, and video platforms.
John 18:37Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Everyone that is of the truth heareth my voice. Seed is the Word of God
Luke 8:4 11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
16No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
