Isaiah 55:8 KJV “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” 9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Hello ePrayer Circle Trible,
Many people believe in God but do not know the many benefits that Jesus gave to us upon the completed work of the cross. I’d like to talk to you about the biggest rewards that people can expect when they follow Jesus Christ.
There are many rewards but listed below are some of the biggest ones.
- Salvation and the forgiveness of sins. Hope and assurance. When we follow Jesus, we have hope for the future. We know that even though we face challenges in this life, we will ultimately be victorious because of Jesus. We also have the assurance that we will spend eternity with God in heaven because he forgives us for our sins with confession of repentance.
2 Corinthians 5:18 KJV 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
- Love. peace, righteousness, and joy. When we follow Jesus, we can experience peace and joy that the world cannot give or take away. This peace comes from knowing that we are forgiven and that we have a place in God’s family. This joy comes from knowing that we are loved by God and that he has a good plan for our lives. If you do not have a sound mind with peace nothing else will matter. You are just “out there”. Jesus Christ is Lord.
Isaiah 26:3 KJV “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Note: That end is salvation and ever lasting life.
- Purpose and meaning. When we follow Jesus, we find our purpose and meaning in life. We know that we are here to love God and to love others. We also know that we are here to make a difference in the world.
Psalms 32:8 KJV “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
Mark 12:29-31 KJV 29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these
- Friendship with God. When we follow Jesus, we become friends with God. We can talk to him about anything, and he will always listen. He will also guide us and help us in our lives.
John 15:15 KJV “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”
John 15:13 KJV “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
- Community with other believers. When we follow Jesus, we become part of a community of believers. We can find support and encouragement from other believers who are going through the same things we are. We can also learn from each other and grow in our faith.
Hebrews 10:25 KJV “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
- Protection from evil, dark addictions, and curses from supernatural powers not of God. When you follow Jesus, you have all of heaven and his angels to help you. The blood of Jesus has conquered evil and calling on his name activates this protection.
Luke 10:19 KJV “Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Revelation 12:11 KJV “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
- Provisions. Following Jesus means you have help to meet your needs. Pray for your needs to be met so you do not fall unto temptation. He gives us his Holy Spirit which in turn helps us with spiritual gifts.
Hebrews 4:16 KJV “Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
1 Corinthians 12:9 KJV 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11But all these worketh that one and the self same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
- Healing from our soul diseases and physical health problems. Jesus is able to heal. However, there are times he does not heal and the workings of the Lord are not always known unto us.
Exodus 15:26 KJV “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals thee.”
Isaiah 53:5 KJV “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed.”
Acts 1:7 KJV “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”
These are all great rewards. There are a few things that people need to do to receive these rewards: To receive salvation is only by faith. However, to go to heaven, there are a few more requirements.
Ephesians 2:8 KJV “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
Matthew 7:21 KJV “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
- Believe in Jesus. We need to believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died on the cross for our sins. That he is able to perform miracles for us.
- Repent of our sins. We need to turn away from our sins and ask God for forgiveness.
- Get Baptized. Baptism is a symbolic and religious ritual commanded by God. In addition, when we are baptized we partake in the death of Jesus Christ (grave) which represents our new life in Christ and His Holy Spirit.
- Live a life that is pleasing to God by His Holy Spirit. We need to obey God’s commands and live a life that is characterized by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
John 4:24 KJV “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
In conclusion, when we follow Jesus we experience and receive: love. peace, righteousness, and joy; healing from our soul diseases and physical health problems; provisions, purpose, and meaning; hope and assurance, friendship with God, community with other believers, protection from evil, dark addictions, and curses, gifts from the Holy Spirit forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Our access to these mercies and benefits are available to us based on our faith in Jesus Christ. Free of charge
May the Grace and Truth of God be with you.
