Romans 8:1-4 KJV 1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We all make mistakes, and it’s natural to feel guilt and regret. However, holding onto self-condemnation can prevent us from experiencing the fullness of God’s love and grace. Romans 8:1 assures us that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
By accepting God’s forgiveness and extending it to ourselves, we can release the burden of self-condemnation and move forward in freedom and grace.
Real-world example: David had been struggling with guilt and shame over a past mistake. He felt unworthy of God’s forgiveness and constantly beat himself up. Remembering Romans 8:1, David sought spiritual guidance and began to accept God’s forgiveness. Through prayer and self-compassion, he learned to forgive himself and found healing and peace within.
