45 Day Read The Gospel Challenge

Spirit of Excellence: Intentional: 1 Corinthians 14:40 KJV  “Let all things be done decently and in order.”

During ePrayer Circle’s 90 days to an excellent spirit commitment, I considered all the news, wars, politics, economic, and crime reports that I remembered.  It’s the madness (work of Satan) in the world affecting all ages, gender, races, and nationalities.

It seems that normalizing evil things is the trend.  Believers living in the world and worshiping in the church must strive to live intentionally with love, self-respect, integrity, and appropriateness.

Remember, Jesus died with these same characteristics so we could live. Many of the worldly events that will happen, we cannot stop because it is God’s will and plan. It is written.  Much is revealed in the Book of  Revelations but God promises his children, we will survive in this world or the next if we are of an excellent spirit.  We are not perfect. We are forgiven.

*Lent is a religious observation of the life and ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  It is fasting, praying, and praising God for 40 days not including Sundays until the day before Easter-which falls on a Sunday. Lent’s 1st day is called Ash Wednesday.  Feb 22, 2023. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the gift of Salvation. The completed work on the cross by Jesus gives forgiveness of sin with repentance for all that believe.

Today is the third day out of 40 days of Lent. Regardless of your religion, it is a great time to pray, fast, and praise God according to your schedule and condition.  Remember, declaring your fast for a few hours and ending in prayer is fasting. Even sleeping hours count as fasting. Declare the hours in prayer before going to sleep.

If you normally go to bed at 11 pm. and wake up at 6. Then declare those 7 hours before sleeping by in prayer on your knees. When you have completed those hours, pray on your knees to declare your fast has ended. This avoids coincidence because our faith is intentional. Sing a song of praise when you end your fast to make it holy.

After eating lunch at 1 pm. Declare your fast from 1:30 to 4 pm or 30 min before your dinner or next meal.  Whatever you can handle. One hour is better than none. You may fast from solid foods only. There are many articles on the internet and Google on fasting.

Ask your doctor how can you fast, if you have medical problems. You are acknowledging God with a set time with abstinence. Tell no one once you start your fast to avoid bragging.  Write in a journal your thoughts during this time.  You will be amazed at the clarity of your thinking.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
