ePrayer Room: Understanding Agreement as Determined by God in the King James Bible
Agreement, as determined by God in the King James Bible, involves aligning oneself with God’s will and purposes. It signifies a harmonious relationship where one’s actions, thoughts, and beliefs are in sync with the divine plan. When people are in agreement with God, they are walking in obedience and faithfulness, trusting in His guidance and commandments.
The Fall of Satan and His Angels
The story of Satan being cast out of heaven illustrates the consequences of rebellion against God. Satan, originally an angel named Lucifer, allowed pride to lead him into rebellion against God. He sought to elevate himself above God, which led to his downfall.
In Isaiah 14:12-15 (KJV), it is written:
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”
Satan, along with the angels who followed him, were cast out of heaven as described in Revelation 12:7- 8-10 (KJV):
7And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
This story highlights the importance of remaining in agreement with God’s will. Rebellion leads to separation from God and His blessings.
Examples of Unintentional Agreement with Sin
People can find themselves in agreement with sin without realizing it. This happens when they adopt beliefs, behaviors, or associations that go against God’s teachings. Here are a few examples:
Negative Influences: Associating with individuals who engage in sinful behavior can lead one to participate or condone such actions. As Paul advises in 1 Corinthians 15:33 (KJV), “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”
Cultural Practices: Sometimes, societal norms and traditions can be contrary to God’s commandments. Without discernment, individuals might follow these practices, unknowingly agreeing with sin.
Personal Compromises: Making small compromises in one’s moral and ethical standards can gradually lead to larger sins. James 4:4 (KJV) warns, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
Avoiding Agreement with Sin
Believers are called to be vigilant and discerning, ensuring they do not partake in others’ sins. Ephesians 5:11 (KJV) states, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” This means actively rejecting sin and encouraging others to do the same.
In conclusion, agreement with God involves aligning one’s life with His will and rejecting any form of rebellion or sin. The story of Satan’s fall serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences of opposing God’s authority. By being aware of our actions and associations, we can avoid unintentional agreements with sin and walk in the blessings of God’s favor.
Reflective Question: How can we ensure that our actions and associations are in agreement with God’s will and not inadvertently aligned with sin?

Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
