ePrayer Room: The Race Explained
In life, we often feel like we’re in a race, striving to achieve our goals and dreams. However, Ecclesiastes 9:11 reminds us that success is not solely determined by our efforts or abilities but also by divine timing and providence. “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all.”
Let us pray for guidance and understanding as we navigate life’s journey.
Heavenly Father,
As we embark on each day’s journey, we are reminded that the race of life is not about speed or strength alone. Your Word teaches us that time and chance happen to us all (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Help us to trust in your timing and to rely on your wisdom rather than our own understanding.
We recall the story of Joseph, who endured many trials and setbacks before ultimately rising to prominence. Despite being sold into slavery and unjustly imprisoned, Joseph remained faithful to you. In your perfect timing, he was elevated to a position of power and influence, fulfilling the purpose you had for him.
Lord, like Joseph, help us to remain steadfast in faith, even when faced with challenges. May we trust that you are working all things together for our good.
It is written in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”. Grant us the patience and perseverance to run our race with endurance, knowing that the ultimate prize is found in you.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
