In this post, we’ll explore how we can encourage ourselves by embracing God’s words and believing in the identity He has given us. Following this, you’ll find a three-step action plan to help you stay encouraged every day.
In life, challenges can often make us feel overwhelmed, but God has given us everything we need to succeed and find true happiness. The Bible reminds us that God is our provider, protector, and guide. He is all we need to overcome any obstacle and live a life full of joy and abundance. Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10, KJV). This abundance isn’t just about material wealth but about the fullness of life that comes from knowing and trusting in God.
When we remember who God says we are, we find strength and encouragement. God created us with a purpose, and He knows us better than anyone else. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12, KJV). God has given us the right to be His children, which means we are loved, valued, and equipped to overcome any challenge.
The different descriptions of God throughout the Bible remind us of His all-encompassing power. By Him, all things were made, and without Him, nothing was made that has been made (John 1:3, KJV). He is our Creator, our Sustainer, and our Protector.

- “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13, KJV).

- “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14, KJV).

Believing and speaking these truths over your life will strengthen your faith and remind you that God is all you need to succeed and be happy.
Three-Step Action Plan to Maintain a Positive Outlook
- Daily Gratitude Journaling
- Action: Start each day by writing down three things you are grateful for in a journal. This simple practice helps shift your focus from what’s wrong to what’s right, cultivating a mindset of thankfulness.
- Tip: Keep your journal by your bed, and make it a habit to write in it first thing in the morning or right before bed.
- Positive Affirmations
- Action: Speak or write positive affirmations daily that align with who God says you are. Examples include, “I am a child of God,” “I am more than a conqueror,” or “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Repeating these truths helps reinforce a positive self-image and strengthens your faith.
- Tip: Write these affirmations on sticky notes and place them where you will see them often, such as your bathroom mirror or workspace.
- Acts of Kindness
- Action: Perform at least one act of kindness each day. This could be as simple as smiling at a stranger, helping a neighbor, or sending an encouraging text to a friend. Acts of kindness not only uplift others but also enhance your own sense of purpose and joy.
- Tip: Reflect on how each act made you feel, and consider how it may have impacted the other person.
Reflection Question:
- What has God shown me today that I can be thankful for, and how can I use that to encourage myself and others?
By grounding ourselves in God’s truth and consistently applying positive practices in our daily lives, we can maintain a strong, encouraged spirit. Remember, God has equipped you with everything you need to succeed and find true joy. Embrace who He says you are, and let His word guide and uplift you every step of the way.
