Don’t Allow People or Things That Don’t Matter That Much – Matter Too Much – “Guilty Pleasures”
Proverbs 21:17 – He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
If we allow others to interfere in our family relationships or the indulgence of drugs, alcohol, sex, and/or the lust for money to deter us from the word of God and our responsibilities, then we are giving in to “Guilty Pleasures.” We are putting these things or people before God. Take a minute to reflect on your life. Are there any areas where you are guilty of “Guilty Pleasures” that get in the way of something more important? Repent and pray to God to release you from these strongholds so that you may have a closer relationship with God and an abundant life by getting your priorities in order.
