Chapter 11 : Jesus goes to Judea to see Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary, and her sister Martha. Lazarus is the brother of Mary. This is the same Mary who anointed the Lord with expensive oil and wiped his feet with her hair. Jesus loves Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. He wept for them. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead by calling him by name. Lazarus had been dead four days. In a previous chapter, Jesus referred to a personal relationship with his followers (sheep), as he knows them by name. He also states that he will call them by name and raise them up on the last day. In this chapter, we learn that Jesus states he is the resurrection.
Chapter 12 : He and his disciples had dinner with Mary, Martha, and Lazarus (whom Jesus had raised from the dead). Mary wiped the feet of Jesus with expensive ointment and her hair as an expression of love and gratitude. She believed in Jesus. He brought her brother, Lazarus, back from the dead by calling his name. Jesus claimed in chapter 11, that he is able to do this because he has life in him. The Father is life. Jesus often asked before performing a miracle for a person, if that person believed in him. In another instance, Jesus demonstrated salvation is for everyone, money or no money.

CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit. (Get Baptized)
