The Gospel consists of the four books in the New Testament that gives the teachings of Jesus Christ, written by John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew.
Overview of the Gospel of Matthew:
Matthew’s name means “Gift of the Lord”, a tax collector who left everything to follow Jesus Christ as an apostle (disciple). His former name was Levi, the tax collector. Matthew wrote the Gospel of Matthew. He wrote it for people who converted from Judaism. This Gospel demonstrates that Jesus Christ is the King and Messiah of Israel. His works support that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all of the old testament prophecies of the coming of the Messiah.
“This book describes Jesus’s genealogy, his miraculous birth and childhood, his baptism and temptation, his ministry of healing and preaching, and finally his crucifixion and resurrection. The resurrected Jesus commissions his Apostles to “go and make disciples of all nations.” Source: Retrieved from the internet on 11/16/2021 from The New World Encyclopedia. https://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Gospel_of_Matthew

Matthew 25 covers the parable of the ten virgins, the parable of the talents, and the description of the last judgment when Jesus with his angels will judge the nations.
1. The parable of the ten virgins. Matthew 25: 1-3, 13 KJV 1Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
The bridegroom was late. Therefore five brides’ lamps went out and they asked the other five brides for some of their oil. They refused because they may not have enough oil. Five brides went to buy oil. While they were gone, the bridegroom came and took the five brides that were waiting and prepared. The other brides returned and he said he did not know them and they were not allowed to go with the bridegroom. 13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of man cometh.
Note: The meaning of this story is that upon Jesus’ return for judgment, be ready, and then you won’t have to get ready. There will be no second chances. Matthew 25: 13 KJV 13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
2. You will learn the meaning of the parable of the talents. Note: A talent is an amount of money that is equal to a year’s wages. Matthew 25: 14-15 KJV 14For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants and delivered unto them his goods. 15And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several abilities; and straightway took his journey.
The man gave five talents to one servant, two talents to another, and one talent to another servant. The owner left and returned. The servant with 5 talents had gained 5 more talents. The servant with two talents had gained two more talents. The servant with one talent had buried the money to keep for his owner’s return. The owner was angry at the one who buried the money and said that he should have put the money in the bank and accrued interest.
Matthew 25: 27-30 KJV 27Thou oughts’ therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming, I should have received mine own with usury. 28Take, therefore, the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him, that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Note: The meaning of this parable is thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things.
3. You will learn the description of the last judgment described. Matthew 25: 31-33 KJV 31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Matthew 25: 34-41 KJV 34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36Naked and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Note: Jesus will judge nations that do not honor him.
The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 26 summarizes The Gospel of Mark and Luke’s events leading up to and the Crucifixion. The rulers conspire against Jesus. Jesus prepared for his crucifixion that he often spoke of to the disciples being predestined.
A woman anointed Jesus’ head with precious ointment. He said it was to honor him for his burial and blessed her actions to be told in remembrance of her. Judas conspires against Jesus and portrays him with a kiss by identifying him to the Scribes and Pharisees who came to capture him.
Jesus keeps the Passover ( a Jewish tradition that celebrated God freeing the Jews from Pharaoh- The famous parting of the Red Sea). Jesus declares the Lord’s Supper (Communion) to be done in remembrance of him and the shedding of his blood for remittance of sins. Jesus prays to the Father in the Garden. He asks God to remove this cup from him.
If not, he would do his will. He returns to find the disciple’s sleep. He warns them to pray to avoid temptation. Jesus is brought before the high priest and sentenced to death. Peter is identified as Jesus’ disciple, Peter denies Jesus three times and becomes ashamed.
Note: Here we can be assured that Jesus suffered and is very well aware of human sufferings and problems. Even so, we are to be obedient. Jeremiah 29:11 KJV “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jesus says to pray to avoid temptation.

Call to salvation
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
