The Gospel consists of the four books in the New Testament that gives the teachings of Jesus Christ, written by John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew. Apostle Luke, a Gentile and a physician, wrote this Gospel and the Book of Acts. Luke’s work is assumed to be written in AD 60-62 during the time disciple Paul was in jail.
His works were dedicated to Theophilus, a Roman dignitary. Luke gives an ordered account of the events of Jesus’s life but not necessarily in order. His primary research was eyewitnesses, disciples, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Luke gives many accounts of Jesus’s healing ministry because Luke was a physician himself.

Chapter Nine: Overview of Chapter Nine – Jesus again, demonstrates that he is pre-destine and faith open doors to the power of God.
A man brought his son, a child, that was possessed by an unclean spirit. The man said that he asked the disciples to cast the demon spirit out of his son but they could not. Jesus answered, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? He delivered the child from the spirit and gave the child to his father. The people were all amazed at the mighty power of God.
Again, Jesus warned the disciples he would be delivered unto the hands of men. The disciples wondered who would be great amongst them when Jesus left. Jesus said whosoever shall receive this child in my name receive me: and whosoever shall receive me received him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. Messengers were sent to a village of Samaritans, to make ready for Jesus but were refused.
The disciples wanted to cast fire upon them but Jesus said that they did not know the spirit within them. It was a spirit to save men’s lives not to destroy them. They went to another village. A man asked to follow him, Jesus warned that to follow him, his followers leave everything and follow him. They could not say goodbye to families nor bury their families.
Chapter Ten: Overview of Chapter Ten Note: Jesus testifies of his creation before being born a man because he saw Satan fall from heaven. The disciples rejoice at the power of Jesus Christ’s name.
The Lord appointed 70 more disciples and sent them by two’s to every city and place where he would follow. He told them, Luke 10:2 The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few. Pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborer’s into his harvest. Note: The disciples were sent out to preach the gospel and heal the sick. Here Jesus noted that there was much work to do. They needed to develop fruit, fruit that would help continue the mission.
The disciples were to pray that these types of people would be sent to them. Later, the disciples returned and claimed even the devils are subject unto them in Jesus’ name. Jesus said to them: Luke 10:18 I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold I give unto you power to tread serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you: but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.
Note: Jesus testifies of his creation before being born a man because he saw Satan fall from heaven. The disciples rejoice at the power of Jesus Christ’s name. Today, believers can experience the same power of Jesus Christ’s name. Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27And he answering said Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. 28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit. (Get Baptized)
