Daily Word: Understanding Mark 3:24-29 KJV – Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit
In Mark 3:24-29 KJV, Jesus addresses the religious leaders who accuse Him of casting out devils by the power of Satan. Jesus responds by explaining that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand, and if Satan is casting out Satan, his kingdom is doomed. He concludes with a solemn warning about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit:
Note: The strongest trait of a gang is loyalty. If a member is known for betrayal that member is put to death by the gang because Satan does not divide himself.
God does not divide himself. If someone says God told me to kill someone that is not of God because God’s word is true. Exodus 20:13 KJV “Thou shalt not kill.”
Learn the word of God so you are not tricked by Satan or his workers of iniquity (evil). Be careful of organizations, people or systems that require you to deny the spirit of God in order to join them.
“Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.” (Mark 3:28-29, KJV)
Blasphemy Against the Son of God vs. the Holy Spirit
Jesus explains that speaking against the Son of God can be forgiven. People may misunderstand or reject Christ, but if they repent, they can be forgiven. However, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is different.
2 Chronicles 30:9 KJV “For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.”
Blaspheming the Holy Spirit involves attributing the works of the Holy Spirit to Satan, deliberately rejecting God’s power and truth. This rejection cuts a person off from repentance and forgiveness because it reflects a hardened heart that resists the Spirit’s work of bringing someone to salvation.
Consider someone who has allowed bitterness and unforgiveness to take root in their heart. Their refusal to forgive others not only damages their relationships but also affects their spiritual health.
Usually a person in this state tell a lot of lies, complains, very unclean in all ways and does not seem to understand compassion and love. They are given over to a reproach mind.
Romans 1: 28-31 KJV 28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30Backbiters, haters of God (Jesus), despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
These traits of a reproach mind may indicate that a person may be on the outside of God’s will, as harboring such feelings is not aligned with God’s command to love and forgive. Over time, an unclean spirit of bitterness can separate a person from the redeeming power of God.
People who blaspheme the Holy Spirit are unclean and not Holy because of unforgivness.
The Holy Spirit is not with them. Without repentance and the work of the Holy Spirit, they remain bound by unforgiveness.
The Importance of Redemption
Even in situations where people speak against God or reject Jesus temporarily, there is still hope for redemption if they repent. God’s grace is available to those who turn back to Him.
However, the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is a warning to those who knowingly reject the truth of God’s Spirit. Rejecting the Spirit’s work hardens a person’s heart, leaving them unreachable by God’s grace.
Reflective Question
Have you allowed the Holy Spirit to work in your heart to forgive others and align yourself with God’s will?

John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
