Daily Word: Returning to God by Prayer: 7 Fire Steps.
We communicate with God by praying through the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Jesus has paid the price for our sins through His death, allowing us to approach God without sin, covered by the blood of Jesus’ (atonement). John 14:6 KJV “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Jesus is life and our living hope.
Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:”
Below are the steps to incorporate in your prayer life as you approach the throne of Grace and ask for mercy, forgiveness and acceptance.
Returning to God by Prayer
1.Prepare yourself by washing your body and clothes. Because you are preparing to go before the Lord to pray in spirit and truth. 1 Peter 1:16 KJV “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
Here you can command power from God of healing, and all the promises of God’s word including protection. Many times in the bible the Lord would order the people to wash before coming before him. Now you are ready to prepare a holy place to pray.
2. Pray in a Holy Place. When we come to God, we must start by praying in a holy place. A place that is cleaned physically and spiritually. Jesus says in Matthew 21:13 KJV, “My house shall be called the house of prayer.” We should pray in a place dedicated to God. Most of the time that is a church but it can be a place in your home: closet, bedroom, corner, car, etc..,
Verbally repent any unrepented sins that may be attached to that place and committed in that place in Jesus’ name. Declare the place Holy in Jesus name. That is why saints pray for the church.
Matthew 6:6 KJV “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to Lead You in Prayer and Into Repentance. It’s important to ask the Holy Spirit to guide our prayers. Romans 8:26 says, “The Spirit also helps our weaknesses: for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us.” Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you in spirit and truth, helping you to repent.
4. Repent Your Sins. Next, we need to repent our sins. 1 John 1:9 KJV reminds us, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Be honest with God about your sins and ask for His forgiveness.
1 John 1:8 KJV “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” If you are sincere, the Holy Spirit will bring your sins to your remembrance and you will know what they are.
5. Praise God and Speak Scripture. Praise God for His goodness and mercy. Psalm 100:4 KJV encourages us, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.” Use scriptures to glorify God in your prayers.
6. Declare Your Faithfulness and Agree with God’s Word. Declare your faithfulness to God. Joshua 24:15 KJV says, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Agree with God’s word and show your commitment to Him.
7. Make Your Request Known. Finally, bring your needs to God. Hebrews 4:16 KJV tells us, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Pray and make your requests known to God, seeking His mercy and grace. ***IMPORTANT. Dont forget to pray for others, the church, leaders and the nation. Whether you know them or not. It is your duty.
End with Praise Finish your prayer with praise, thanking God for His love and mercy. Say “Amen” in Jesus’ name, and sing a praise song to honor Him.
Returning to God by prayer is a powerful way to reconnect with Him. By following these steps and using scripture, we can approach God with confidence and receive His grace and mercy. Amen.

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
