The importance of repentance for salvation is express in the scriptures below. They teach that we must turn away from our sins and turn to God in order to be forgiven. Repentance is not just a matter of saying “I’m sorry”. It is a change of heart and mind to not repeat the offense. It is a commitment to follow Jesus Christ. When we repent, we are forgiven of our sins and given a new start in life. We are also given the gift of the Holy Spirit
Matthew 6:15 KJV “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Note: A lot of people repent their sins. They say they forgive others but the first chance they get to be ugly, gossip, show off or hurt that person in any way (and get a way with it) they go for it. God is not fooled. Do not trick yourself. If you do not truly forgive, You will not be forgiven.
Luke 13:3 KJV “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
