Daily Word: Be Prepared and Be Aware Be Ready So You Don’t Have To Get Ready.
In today’s world, it’s important to be prepared and aware of what’s happening around us. With the climate control, rumors of war and conflict, we should not ignore the signs. Jesus tells us to be ready for His return. This is a message we should take seriously.
In the Bible, Jesus tells a story about ten maidens waiting for a groom. This story teaches us a lot about being prepared. The maidens had lamps to light their way, but only five of them brought enough oil. The other five didn’t prepare well. When the groom finally came, the five with extra oil were ready and went with him. But the five without oil missed out. This story can be found in Matthew 25:1-13 KJV.
This story reminds us to always be prepared. In Matthew 24:44 KJV, Jesus says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh.” This means we should live every day like Jesus might come back at any moment. We need to stay aware and not get distracted by the world.
Another important scripture is 1 Thessalonians 5:2 KJV, which says, “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.” This tells us that we won’t know when Jesus will return. It will be sudden and unexpected, just like a thief in the night.
So, what can we do? We should live our lives in a way that honors God. We should repent, praise God pray to God, and read the Bible, and help others. By doing these things, we keep our lamps full, just like the wise maidens. Let’s stay prepared and aware, looking forward to the day Jesus returns.
